With Claire being 1-syllable I think a 3-syllable mn would flow the nicest -

Claire Amelia
Claire Bethany
Claire Brietta
Claire Delilah
Claire Danika
Claire Davina
Claire Fantasia
Claire Felicia
Claire Francesca
Claire Genevieve
Claire Rosalie
Claire Ivory
Claire Lucia
Claire Marcella

Claire Midori
Claire Morrigan
Claire Morgandy
Claire Nadia
Claire Narella
Claire Natalia
Claire Nicola
Claire Nicolette

I think Elizabeth would go well with Claire, as a middle name.

My Lo's name is Claire and we had the same problem. Every name we liked sounded better with Claire as the middle name. We ended up going with Claire Elise, and we are very happy with it.

Some others:

Claire Olivia

Claire Elizabeth

Claire Amelia

Maybe its a southern thing, but a lot in my family go by both fn and mn. I love the idea of Claire being the middle name, and calling her both names. My cousin's daughter is Sarah Claire, always called Sarah Claire, so it does seperate her from other Sarahs, with out being weird. Also, my old neighbor had a Mary Claire, and I loved that too. And if you remember John Edwards, the former canidate for Vice President with John Kerry, he has a daughter named Emma Claire, and is always called by both names. Because Claire is a short name and the first names I have mentioned are too, the name isn't too long, not any longer than the three syll. names that are popular today, Sophia, Olivia, etc. Its a good way to give a distinct name that not everyone will have, without getting wacky.
What you do think of the idea?

We were strongly considering Blaire, and had the same dilemma. My name is Brooke, which has a similar problem, and my middle name is Anne, which works well, I think. I thought about Blaire Anne (in your case, Claire Anne) but the soft ending and soft vowell sound strange to me). What about:

Claire Elizabeth
Claire Grace

or, a middle name that stresses the second syllable, like

Claire Renee
Claire Elise
Claire Marie

Look up French first names and you'll probably find several viable options. Or, do you have a family last name that would work?

Claire Anderson (or whatever) Smith sounds nice

My husband and I were also planning on naming our daughter Claire. We really like the name Marie for the middle name. We also have thought about doing Claire as maybe a middle and Aubrey as a first name. :)

My 10wk old daughter is named Claire...her middle name is Lynn, which is my mom's middle name, kinda a family tradition. I always like middle names to have some type of "meaning"...but that's just me :)
