Classic or just outdated???

DH and I like Bridget for a girl. Is it a classic name or outdated? We also like Cole for a boy, but has that seen it's peek and on the way out? DD is Jillian Paige.
Thanks,
Piper

I don't think Bridget is classic OR outdated. I think it's a cute name that goes well w/ Jillian. It's not odd yet you don't find many any more either ... but I don't think of it as outdated (maybe "underused"?)
I like Cole, too. DOn't know about its "peeking" or not.

Thank you, I really like your other suggestions too. Chloe has been a name we have thrown around too.

I've actually been hearing Bridget quite a bit more lately, though it doesn't come across as trendy or overly-popular in the least. It's actually stayed between the 100-300s for the past 50 years or so, and has been in the top 1000 every year since 1886, so I'd definitely say it's more classic than dated.
A less common form like Brigid, Brighid (sounds a bit like "bride"), Birgitta, Brigitta or Bidelia might also appeal.
I'm one of the few that prefers Cole on it's own, rather than as a shortened form of Nicholas. Especially since you were concerned it had peaked, so to speak, I'd definitely avoid Nicholas, since it only recently dropped out of the top ten but is still quite popular. Kind of at the tail end of the trend, KWIM? A bit like Taylor and Jessica for girls, both of which were in the top ten a decade or so ago and now seem dated, though they're still in the top 30.
I often prefer a longer formal name when one is available. Cole is just one of the few exceptions for me. ;)
You may also like Colman, nn Cole, or even simply Colm itself.
