Classical music themed names

Hi, my dd is Elise. Part of the reason we loved the name was that there is a beautiful song, Fur Elise by Beethoven. I just had the thought that maybe for this next one we could go with another classical music related name. Right now the only ones I can think of are Minuet and Sonata but I haven't had a chance to really look into it yet. Does anyone have ideas that would work with this theme for either boys or girls?

The song is called For Elise, so why use sonata or Minuet?

You have plenty of songs, old and modern with both boy name and girl name, like Hey Jude or Annie's Song.

If You love Beethoven so much, your son could be named Ludwig and

For a girl --- hands down ---

*** Johanna ***

for Johann Sebastian Bach

I'll think on boys a bit.

Cecilia is the patron saint of music(ians). I know that might not be exactly what you're going for but Elise has a similar feel so thought I'd throw it out there. ;) There's also the Hebrew name/musical term Selah or the Italian name/term Aria.

It's already been mentioned, but I also like the suggestion of Leonore.

And of course there's always Lorelei, or simply Sonata. ;)

Ps. I've always loved Fur Elise, btw (probably comes from watching The Man from Snowy River with my father so many times LOL). I even asked my parents to get me a musicbox that played it when I was about ten or so. ;) Not sure if you're familiar with the movie, but I know they also use "Waltzing Matilda," so Matilda would seem a good option as well.

Well there is always Melody or Harmony. I just looked up music in the baby name finder and it only came up with Auria which is actually quite cute. Cecilia means musical as does Sheila. Lyris means a lyre and musical.

There is Carmen if you want to stay w/ the theme of songs FOR women.

Chantel and all the variations of it are a French name meaning song.

Or Carol as in a Christmas Carol.

This is fun, I'm very musical so I like this idea.

Let me know what you think.

Personally don't care for Minuet or Sonata. What about Lucia? Maria, Ave Maria, Selah, there are tons if you look.

Ooh, I love Fur Elise! It's a beautiful song, & Elise is a beautiful name. What about Aria as a sister for Elise? It's not nessecerly classical, but has to do w/Operas. I really like Melody as a sister for Elise as well. Johanna is gorgeous, even though I'm pretty sure that Bach was actually during the Baroch period. (right?) Anyway, good luck!
