These are way more interesting than the girls...I LOVE Lincoln and Carson (my g-gpa was Carson, a stoic man with a shock of white hair.) But I have to admit to never understanding spelling Johnathan with that extra h...it's like mushing John and Jonathan together and I don't quite get it. And I'm not quite sure I'm sold on Clancy...it's just right on the knife's blade for me.

I like Carson and Weston. but is it just me or does that spelling of Isaiah look somehow wrong?

Interesting. I always thought Jonathan looked like it was missing something. I guess it's because most of them I knew were Johnathan. I only knew one Jonathan. Then there's my DH who is John (just John), and always gets upset if someone assumed he was Jon. So I guess that's were I get it! :o)

I think, for me, it's because in the Bible it's spelled "Jonathan," so I take that as the source spelling...

Yes, I know. I guess it is because no matter how long ago it was Jonathan, in my short passage through time (compared to the Bible, of course! LoL!) I have encountered more John/Johnathans personally, and that has no doubt skewed my perception of this name.

To me, Jonathan is almost equivelant to spelling Johnson or Johnston as Jonson or Jonston. I'm sure they are both someone's name somewhere, but they also just look a little off to me without the "h" there. It doesn't mean that any of these would be "wrong" but my eye/mind prefers them all with the "h" more than without.

I really am sure it is all just perspective. For example, when your last name is spelled Clair . . . Claire and Clare look wrong, no matter how right they may be! :o)

Edited to add: I don't think I have to comment on Claire with a K then, do I? I totally agree with you on that one!
