I am currently 16 weeks pregnant with twins. (first child, second child and last child. I was thinking of name that start with the same letter. Is this cute or corny?

I'm normally the type that avoids matching names, but I think that it can be cute when they are not OVERLY matching. I'd much rather see twins with names that start with the same letter than that rhyme, for instance.

My advice would be to find two names that you really love. If they happen to start with the same letter, great. But don't force yourself to find matching names just for the sake of matching names.

To be honest, I think it's really corny. I like names that sound nice together, but start with different letters. In some cases though, its fine, if they are a boy and a girl. (ex. I like Ian and Isla and Gavin and Gabrielle). Here are some ideas of my favourite twin names...

G/G
Annalise and Emmeline
Julia and Alexis
Kristen and Shannon

B/B
Isaac and Emmett
Travis and Eli (Elijah,Elliot,Elias)
Connor and Jude

G/B
Sydney and Hayden
Sarah and Andrew
Brooke and Carson

It could definitely be cute. Here are some interesting combos I stumbled across at www.pregnancy-info.net

Aidan and Nadia (reversal of each other)
Amy and May (anagrams of each other)
Mia and Cara (Mia means my, and Cara means beloved)

There are more like this if you're interested in reading them, check the site out.

So what if it's a little corny. I think it's corny in a cute way. I agree that I'd rather see the same first initial than rhyming.

I like coordinating them myself rather than forcing the same initial. I have two boys 20 months apart and their names are Maxx and Jake (Maxwell & Jacob). And I also have two girls that are 15 months apart and their names are Nina & Lily. I went with a four letter theme.

My mom was one of four and all their names started with R. I think it's adorable.

What names do you like? What's your style? I'd love to help you explore your options! :D

I do like for twins names to start with the same letter. however, not if you can't find two names you really like. in other words, don't settle for one you don't really like

start out with whatever names you had picked for a boy and a girl before you knew you were having twins

find some name pairs using the initials of the names you started out with.

if there's a combo you really like, then do it. if not, then go with two names you really like, although the names should be more or less in the same style.

I think it'd be weird for twins for one to have a modern/trendy/newer name and the other to have classic/traditional/old-fashioned.

good luck

(ps - most people on this board will tell you they don't like twins to have the same letter. but if you go to the social security site, and click on the most popular combos for twins in any given year since they began doing that, you will find that most twins do have the same first initial, more than 50 percent, probably around 65 percent I'd say)

I have twin girls and I named them Karoline (Karlee) and Kathryn (Kate). I think either way is fine. I am a twin myself and my sister and I are Julianna & Jennifer. Just pick two names you really like and don't worry about it!

I know a girl who had twins (a boy and a girl) and she named them allison and zachary and she said that she was done having any more kids and that this was her a-z family.

It is ok as long as the names are too close to sounding alike. Same letter ok not almost the same name if that makes sense.
