To cutesy??

DH and I have come to an agreement on a girl's name. Natalie. We didnt really want top 100, but we both love the name. Our DD Brenleigh Faith was named after my family and

You might feel compelled to go with yet another virtue name should you have a 3rd daughter. I'd find another J name for Natalie. How about Natalie Joyce? Or Natalie Joan?
Natalie Jane
Natalie Jocelyn
Natalie Jeanette
Natalie Jill
Natalie Joyce
Natalie Joan
I think it's okay if middle names
so doesn't matter if they match...
I love Faith and Joy
The name Joy isn't really my style, but its not horrible and not *too* cutesy. Certainly not for me, but not bad. I LOVE Natalie though! Natalie Jane or Natalie Josephine sound nice.

My best friend growing up was Gretchen Joy, and her sister was Heidi Faith, and she hated her mn because of that. She was the younger sister, so she always said it seemed like she didn't get her "own" name, but rather got a filler mn just because it happened to "match" her older sister's, which seemed corny.
If you absolutely loved the name or if it was in honor of someone dear to you I could understand wanting to use it, but I definitely wouldn't use it just because it begins with J, KWIM? If dh is determined for this dd to have his initials in reverse, I'd be rather insistent that he at least work with me on which J name would be used (I believe in a further post you mention loving Jane). The initials are already for him (and his father), so it would be nice if YOU got more of a say in what the actual name would be, rather than going with one by default that happens to come across as a bit cutesy/matchy with your first dd's. ;)
Anyway, that's the arguement I'd use to get Natalie Jane (or some other J name you prefer), since you obviously do have reservations about this one. I also agree that Joyce doesn't come across as quite so "themed," so if nothing else, maybe you could get dh to agree to that instead.

If you were using the first names Faith and Joy, I'd say that yes, that's a little too cutesy. But since they're middle names that won't be used on a daily basis, I think it's just fine. My older DD's middle name is Joy (after DH's favorite aunt), and we love it. I think Natalie Joy is a beautiful choice and one that has great meaning for your family.

Amber, we have a Natalie Joy and I love the name (it gets an enthusiastic thumbs up from me!). Our Natalie is 9 years old, and I thought we'd hear the name more than we do, but we rarely meet another Natalie. BTW, I like the Faith and Joy thing. If you have any more girls (or boys), you could give them "virtue" middle names, too. God bless,
