So, we're still ttc #2. DD is Madisyn Kate. We don't have any girls names that we "LOVE". I really like Riley. DH is driving me nuts. He keeps going back and forth about what he really likes. For a boy, the only one we can agree on is Deacon. DO you think it works well with Madisyn. What genre of name is that? I'm really bad at all of this. PLEASE HELP> We aren't people to not name our child a popular name just because it's popular. We also like Spanish names for a boy. Our ln is Munoz. Can you PLEASE give me some suggestions??

I LOVE Deacon, and Declan is nice too. They both seem so strong to me. Deacon is my fave of the two.
www.behindthename.com had this to say about Deacon:

DEACON
Gender: Masculine

Usage: English

Pronounced: DEE-kun

From a surname which originally belonged to a deacon, a cleric in the Christian church (ultimately from Latin decanus meaning "chief of ten").

and this about Declan:

DECLAN
Gender: Masculine

Usage: Irish

Anglicized form of Irish Deaglán, which is of unknown meaning. Saint Declan was a 5th-century missionary to Ireland.

Here are some suggestions that are along the same lines as Deacon and Declan:

Ronan

Gavin

Thane

Riordan

Grant

Everett/Rhett

Garrett

Ashton

Chase

Charles nn Chas/Chaz

Tucker

Kohen/Cohen - love this one for you!

Jared

Wesley

Wade

Beau

Calman/Calder nn Cal

Jonah

Let me know what you like and dislike

If you are very religious and want a name that reflects that, Deacon is a good choice. Otherwise, I prefer Declan, an Anglicized form of the Irish Deaglan, usually related to deagh, meaning "good," and lan, meaning "full" -- therefore "full of goodness."

Since your ln is Spanish, you might also like Diego or Donato.

I love Declan. Absolutely love it. I like the sound of Deacon a lot, but I can't get past the religious association. I'm not religious, so it rubs me the wrong the way.

Both names you have suggested are nice. Another that is similar is Decker.

Good luck!

I really like Dominic -- similar sound, and works in Spanish.

Of those, I like Deacon.

For spanish names, Diego comes to mind. I love that name.

We're not extremely religious or anything... that association doesn't neccessarily bother me either.. I LOVE Diego and Damian for spanish names. I'm starting to really lean towards "D" for a boy... I don't know. I'm still open for suggestions!

Not sure if you've already considered it, but I forgot to mention Dante. Technically Italian, but I actually worked with a Spanish guy named Dante a few years ago, and the name really fit him well (obviously many Italian and Spanish names are similar, so it makes sense). ;)
