Different girl name - Taia ... info?

I just saw a little girl with this name, pronounced tay-a. Thought it was really cute, but can't find much info on it. Also tried searching for Taya(h) and Tea, but still can't find much. Taya is often just listed as a form of Taylor (think I saw the Taia spelling listed as this once or twice as well), and it's really hard to find much on Tea because, obviously, it's the same spelling as the beverage LOL. I did see Tea listed as a shortened form of Teagan (although I know it has a stand-alone meaning as well ... Italian I think?). Anyway, just wondering if anyone knew anything about the name, because it's just driving me nuts LOL.

Matea, Mathea, Mattea ... Tea is a nickname for any of the feminine forms of Mateo or Matteas.
Taia is the name of an historically significant Chinese sword.
I have known two girls with a name simailar to Taia, but spelt Tea.
- one was pronounced tay-ya (like Taia, but it was spelt Téa and she told me it of french descent??),
- the other was pronounced tea-ya (like the drink Tia Maria!).
I have read that the name Tia is of spanish/greek origin and it means princess/aunt.
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Claire :)
