Hi everyone- I am 9 wks pg with my 2nd. DH dosen't want to talk about names until after we find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I think its so much fun to think about though!
Please give feedback, ideas for combinations or new ideas for middle names/ similar style names. Last name starts with "N" so I'm not sure about any names ending in an "n" although I love many of these.

Boys:

Alec
Alexander (probably as a mn)
Brandon
Caleb
Luke or Lukas
Aaron
Cole
Xavier (LOVE this as a middle name; DH will probably hate it.)
Jake (maybe as nn for Jacob but this is so common)
Corbin
Reid

Girls:

Kaela (my favorite right now)
Brooke (as a mn)
Alexa
Avery
Madelyn/Madeline
Ana
Annika/Anika
Quinn
Taylor
Leigh (probably as a mn)

WDYT?

Congratulations! I don't blame you for being ready to talk about it now -- I'm not even TTC yet and I'm already obsessed with names. I can't imagine waiting until I know the sex.

Here are my thoughts on your list:

Alec -- LOVE it. This is a great name and a nice alternative to the more popular Alexander/Alex
Alexander -- very nice as a middle name
Brandon -- I like this a lot, though I like Brendan better
Caleb -- Love it.
Luke or Lukas -- again, love it. I like Lucas rather than Lukas, but either is nice.
Aaron -- nice, but not a favorite of mine
Cole -- nice, but I'm hearing this a lot lately. I really like it as a middle name.
Xavier -- I love this as a middle name also
Jake -- I LOVE Jacob/Jake but it's incredibly popular
Corbin -- very nice, I like it a lot
Reid -- I love this as a middle name

My favorite boy combinations:

Caleb Reid
Alec Reid
Brandon Cole
Corbin Luke
Lucas Reid
Lucas Cole
Caleb Xavier
Brandon Xavier
Corbin Xavier

Girls:

Kaela -- my least favorite. It's SO trendy. It's a confusing spelling that is just yet another version of Kayla/Kaylee (the most popular trend for girls of this decade). This is going to sound very dated by the time she's an adult.
Brooke -- love it as a middle name
Alexa -- okay, but it feels kinda "cute" to me. I prefer the more elegant Alexandra
Avery -- I like this one.
Madelyn/Madeline -- LOVE it and strongly prefer Madeline/Madeleine to Madelyn (or any trendy "y" spelling). A gorgeous classic. Maddy is very popular right now thanks to Madison, but Madeleine isn't nearly as popular as Madison.
Ana -- LOVE it. Gorgeous and classic. I like this spelling with the Ah-na pron. If you are going for Ann-uh, you should use the

I agree that aname ending in n isn't a great idea for you. Of those you listed, I like:
Alec Lucas
Alexander Luke
Caleb Reid
Luke Alexander
Aaron Christpher
Cole Michael
Jacob Reid, nn Jake
Corbin Reid

How about:
Neil Christopher
Grant Alexander
Gray Lucas
Drew Alexander

Girls:

Kaela-- really don't like this. Not substantial at all and there are so many Kaelas, Kaylas. Kalas, Keiras, Kyras, etc. Please don't!

Avery Brooke
Madeline Leigh
Ana Madeline
Annika Liv

How about:
Carolina Taylor
Ingrid Laure
Olivia Rose
Britta Reese
Anneliese Raine
Laila Elisabeth

My Favorites from your list:

Corbin Xavier
Lukas Reid (Although I am a fan of the Lucas spelling)
Reid Alexander

Kaela Brooke
Annika Brooke

I also love Brooke as a first name, although I am not sure if the other names on your list work well as a mn for Brooke.

Thanks for the good feedback!
I guess I haven't run into as many "Kaelas" and "Kaylas" as other people have, so that's good to know....I really didn't think of it as a popular name! It is important to know how a name is percieved by others.
I definitely prefer Ana "ah-na"; I don't care for "Anna" much.
What do you think about Victoria, nn Tory?

I appreciate the suggestions! Drew is actually a name that I really like, but wasn't sure how well it stood on its own. Would people always assume it's short for Andrew?
I hadn't considered Grant- but it's growing on me!
I REALLY like the ideas of Reese and Raine for girls middle names.
Thanks!

You're welcome! I like Grant a lot...a good friend of mine has an 18 yr old named Grant and he's such a cutie! I don't hear about many little Grants though, which is a good thing!

I always assumed Drew was short for Andrew but this board has convinced me that doesn't have to be true! Drew and Kate have now graduated to being their own names for me!

I am glad you like Reese and Raine. Reese is fairly popular now, Raine is more unusual. I like them both, esp as mn's!

Love Victoria, nn Torie. The sp makes a difference to me-- more closely related to the name itself and prettier.

Boys:

Alec- I like this, but only as a nn for Alexander
Alexander (probably as a mn)- Love this both as a fn and mn
Brandon- eh, kind of boring.
Caleb- LOVE this... so strong
Luke or Lukas- Love both, however I prefer Luke (and I think Lucas looks better spelt with a c)
Aaron- okay, seems in the same category as Brandon... nothing special
Cole- getting tired of this
Xavier- love it
Jake - not on its own, only as a nn. I like it, however it IS very popular
Corbin - okay
Reid- LOVE it
Favourite combos:
#1) Caleb Xavier
#2) Reid Alexander
#3) Luke Xavier

Girls:

Kaela - I am so tired of the Kayla/Kaylee/Kyla/Kylee names. And just because you have spelt it differently doesn't make it different! These names are horribly trendy and all over the place! I would definetly avoid it.
Brooke (as a mn)- Love this
Alexa- Beautiful
Avery- Beautiful, very sweet
Madelyn/Madeline- cute, however not with nn Maddy (so popular)
Ana- pretty, however I think Anna looks more complete
Annika/Anika- pretty, although not my favourite
Quinn- Seems very trendy and unisex to me, not pretty IMO
Taylor- outdated
Leigh (probably as a mn)- nms, a bit boring
Faves:
#1) Alexa Brooke
#2) Avery Brooke
#3) Madelyn Brooke
