Do you like the name Emma Kaylin? (Kaylin is a family name and we'd like to use it as a middle name only). I'm not sure if the name flows well... our last name is one syllable and starts with H.

I like its flow and love that Kaylin has family meaning for you.

My only hesitation is that Emma is super popular. If that doesn't bother you, then go for it! :)

AJ, enjoying life with C.

I think it flows beautifully and I always love meanings behind middle names.

I love that you are using a family name for the middle name spot, and I think Kaylin is very pretty.

Emma is a gorgeous, classic that I've loved for a long time and Emma Kaylin flows beautifully. My only reservation is the popularity. Emma has been in the top 5 for five years and Emily has been #1 for ten years. That makes for a LOT of Em- babies/children in the last ten years.

Popularity is not necessarily the end of the world. Some people don't mind if their daughter has to share her name with a handful of other girls in her class/grade. If you are one of those people, I think this name is perfect for you. However, if you are a person who wants a name that is not terribly popular, a name that will likely belong only to your daughter or maybe her and one other little girl in her grade, I would think twice. There are a lot of other beautiful classic names that aren't QUITE as popular (like Caroline, Claire, Amelia, Audrey, Rachel, etc) or if you really like the sound of Emma, there are names that are similar in sound but not quite as popular (like Audra, Clara, or Gemma). It's a beautiful name, it's just up to you whether you are worried about the popularity and want to keep looking.
