Hello Everyone, I am pregnant and due June 4th. We have not found out the sex of the baby yet but here are the names for a boy and girl!!

BOY: After my husband(who goes by Todd): Christopher Todd (BUT we will call him FOX) (Todd means Fox)
Girl: Ashtyn Taylor

Do you like these?? My parents and in-laws like the girl name and HATE the fact that we will call a boy Fox. Is this a horrible name??

I love Christopher Todd, but am not too crazy about calling a baby Fox. Just doesn't set well with me.

As for the girl name, I first read it as Ashlyn Taylor - and thought that sounded great. When reading Ashtyn Taylor - I thought it was a little heavy on the 't' sound. But, it's not too bad. Good luck.

I think it's fine to have a family nickname of Fox, but can't imagine telling a teacher "his name is Christopher Todd, but please call him Fox and put Fox on his locker." I went to school with kids who had the nicknames of "Bootie" and "Badger" and my husband went to school with a "Hookie" but the parents didn't try to make those their official names.

As for the girl name: I think Ashley has been overused, and all the other Ash names out there are too close for me. Ashtyn is especially problematic because it looks like a "feminized" spelling of the boy's name Ashton. I don't think it looks serious enough on a resume. Sorry!

The name Ashton is actually a male or female name! Ashtyn is the female only version!

The boy name is nice, although I agree with everyone else that it would be a little odd to call a baby or child Fox (especially if it was planned that way in advance, rather than just something that happened).

The girl name is nms. At first, I too read it as Ashlyn, which sounds fine, but Ashtyn Taylor is much too heavy on the Ts, as someone else mentioned, and I also don't like the idea of two unisex names together ... I'd keep it to one or the other. Also, by using the "feminized" spelling of Ashtyn, rather than Ashton, to me just makes it look like Ash tin, another name for a garbage can or ash tray. Just something you might want to keep in mind, because it's not that attractive. Sorry.

I don't care for the name Fox.

Ashtyn sounds like a boys name to me (Ashton?), however, I do have a dd Taylor so I do love that name. Ashlyn is a nice alternative or maybe go with Taylor Ashtyn?

Again, JMO.. it's your baby not mine LOL ; ) Good luck!

I think the nn Fox is cute. I like it. The problem I have is with the girl name. Ashtyn, so me, is weird spelling, first of all, and only a boy's name to me. Why not Ashlyn, which is much more feminine? And Ashtyn and Taylor just don't seem to fit together. The name is very masculine. If you must go with Ashtyn, use a feminine mn... Ashtyn Nicole, Ashtyn Rose, Ashtyn Elise, Ashtyn Elisabeth, etc.

I like Christopher Todd, but calling him Fox is a little off. It reminds me of the Soap Passions, the guy named Fox. Granted, he's very attractive, but I would publicize calling him Fox. As a family nn it's nice. As far as Ashtyn, VERY CUTE. IMO. Good Luck!!

So when your son is say in his teen years and the other teen guys call him by name they will be like "Hey Fox!" - kind of er... gay (not that there is anything wrong with that) -I just don't think your son would appreciate being called Fox by the other guys.

As far as the "Ash" names - Ashley is a nice name, but a bit overused - I personally don't like made up names like Ashtyn, Ashlyn etc.
