It weird. It's like having a child called Ashlyn Marie and then naming the next kid Riley Lynn. The mn is far too similar (i.e., identical) to her sister's fn.

I'm not sure how you pronounce Maleigh, but I can't understand why you'd want to use leigh again for a second child

I'm not crazy about Gemma, but if you like it, that's fine, just pick something else for the middle. how about Jenna or Janna as an alternative to Gemma.

but for Gemma, here are my middle suggestions, as alternatives to Leigh. that's without knowing what family names you could possibly use however. and even if Leigh is a family connection, you've already used it.

Gemma Brianne, Gemma Brielle, Gemma Corinne, Gemma Catherine, Gemma Christine, Gemma Caitlin, Gemma Danielle, Gamma Danae, Gemma Delaney, Gemma Kristin, Gemma Kathleen, Gemma Kirstin, Gemma Nicole, Gemma Noelle, Gemma Nadine, Gemma Paige, Gemma Renee.

I avoided mns that start with a vowel as I don't like a-enders starting middle names with vowels. I also avoided Js (same sound as the soft G for Gemma) and I avoided Ms because the m sound is too promininent in Gemma to go to an M middle.

good luck.

Honestly, it really isn't that big of a deal that they're similar.

I knew someone once who had 3 girls. The only way I can describe the method of naming is to show you....

Jennifer Suzanne
Suzanne Mary
Mary Elizabeth

Interesting.

Unless you use both first and middle names for both girls, I don't really see the problem with having the Leigh sound in the first name of one and the middle name of the other. Middle names are so rarely used...
