Kimberlin Iris: I voted no because I do not care for the name Kimberlin. It sounds trendy to me, sorry. However, I love the name Iris! If you were to flip it to Iris Kimberlin, then I would vote yes.

Here are some similar to Kimerlin:

Our dilemma is we are trying to stick to initials "KI" (my daughter is Karla Isabel) and we are bilingual so it has to sound good in Spanish and English. That really narrows it down! :) But thanks for your honesty. That's why I want to find out ahead of time, before we stick this kid with a name they might hate!

I like Iris quite a bit, but I don't like Kimberlin at all. Sorry. :(

ETA: Just read through the replies and saw your reason for considering this name -- or rather these initials. I'd strongly encourage you to rethink this. Matching sibling names might seem "cute" when you're pregnant, but it really narrows your choices and makes the names seem corny rather than complimentary, if that makes sense. Why limit yourself, especially when you throw in the bilingual aspect that already makes choosing a name difficult? I'd forget the boxed-set initials and just look for a name you truly love. ;)

I LOVE Iris, but Kimberlin is NMS. Kimberly seems outdated, but maybe you would consider Kimber?

ETA jsut read the other posts, and I agree completely with everything Kelli said abotu matching initials- just drop that!

I don't feel strongly one way or another about it...I'm not really big on "Kim-" names, but I don't agree that it's a trendy name at all...your post is the first time I've seen it suggested lately. Also, there is a soap actress with the given name Kimberlin...Kimberlin Brown, so I'm familiar with is as a name. I'm still not sure if I like it. I certainly don't hate it, and I think it sounds nice with Iris. Nice choice.
Best of luck!

ahhh. You will get a lot of grief on this board for having matching initials. I am not in that camp. I share initials with my brother and cousin and I have always liked the connection. K names are tricky because they are often viewed as trendy.

Karla is very nice and classic sounding.

Why not: Katherine Iris? It works for the initials and has that classic feel like Karla.

Another K name I like is: Kiera - it ends in "a" so it might be too matchy with Karla.

Katherine doesn't translate well to Spanish. And Kiera means "want to" in Spanish. That's why we are having a hard time with names! Hopefully it's a boy! I find out next week.

How about Karina? That translates into both Spanish and English. Although, isn't the traditional Spanish spelling-Corrina? With the "matching" initials you could always switch the initials (one child is KI the other is IK). Just a thought.

Finding out in one week, how exciting! Yes, there are many more boy options. Part of the problem is that Spanish names don't really start with K...lots of C's. I am always up for a challenge - here's what I found:

Kyra - elegant, what's not to like about that meaning :) (instead of Kiera pronunciation use K-eye-ruh)
Katia - pure
Kasandra - Unheeded prophetess, weird meaning but kind of works
