Brighton - boy.. I have never heard this for a girl
Berkley - definitely sounds like a girl name
Hayden - either way. when I hear it I think "girl" but I kind of prefer it as a boy name
Payton - boy
Brighton - boy
Berkley - boy
Hayden - boy
Payton - girl
Peyton - boy
Ashton-boy or girl.
Brighton-boy name.
Berkley-boy name.
Hayden- boy or girl.
Payton-boy or girl.
-srm
Berkley - feminine
Payton and Hayden - either way
Ashton-I've always seen as girl, but it appears that the boys are taking this one over
Brighton-girl, I knew a baby named Brighton Sierra
Berkley-I would say girl
Hayden-boy
Payton-the first Payton I knew was a girl, but I now I know more boys named that.
If you decide to go with either of these names, I would strongly suggest to use either a strongly masculine or strongly feminine middle name
Good Luck!
Brighton (boy)
Berkley (boy)
Hayden (girl)
Payton (boy)
This is hard, I've only known two people (kids) personally with these names, so that kind of influences my decision, plus celebrities. Here's how I see it:
Ashton - boy - I think of Ashton Kutcher immediately, I've never known anyone with the name, it sounds like a male version of Ashley, the T-O-N makes it sound harsher, male.
Brighton - boy - although I've never known a Brighton, except the place Brighton Beach, again this sounds male to me because of the T-O-N ending.
Berkley - girl - never known a Berkley, but the same way that T-O-N sounds masculine, I think the L-E-Y (or "lee" sound) ending makes it sound feminine. I'm sure some little girls out there are named Berkleigh.
Hayden - boy - I know there is that actress on Heroes whose real name is Hayden. But I had a little Hayden in my class who was a boy, so this sounds like a boy's name to me. The other reason is it rhymes and matches with all the popular "aden" boy names, Aidan, Braden, Jayden, Kaden, etc. etc.
Payton - boy - I knew a little boy named Peyton, I think of quarterback Peyton Manning, and it has the T-O-N ending.
That said, I'm sure all of these names could be used for a boy or a girl, but these are my first impressions. Don't know if that helps!
