I think it's a darling name for a girl. I love Emerson Rose. I haven't heard of a boy with that name so I can't quite picture it, but anything goes nowadays!!

I think anything that ends in "-son" should be reserved for a boy... I dont' even like the name "Allison", even though I know it's not a boys name, I just dont' like the "-son" ending.

If you really like the name and want to use it for a girl, how about altering the spelling to Emersanne? Then at least it ends in "-anne", and Anne is a bona fide female name...

Best wishes,
~V

A very trendy girl name. It's in the last-name-as-a-first and boy-names-for-a-girl genre :)

I like it for a boys name. But anything does go.. I think if you want to use it for a girl, then go for it. Whatever you like.

I think it is a great name and can work on both sexes. I especially like it on a girl. You can use the nn Ellie which is just adorable!!
