backwoods to you? someone on another name board said it sounded backwoods. I don't want a backwoods name! I was really leaning towards Grady and then I read that opinion.
WDYT? I am getting a little anxious, only 9 days to go and no name yet.

PS his brother is Scott Nicholas

Grady is not a favorite of mine, but I like it and don't think it sounds "backwoods". If you really like it, don't worry about it. There will always be someone who doesn't like your favorite name. If you aren't sure, post some of your other options and we'll all be happy to give you more feedback. :)

I don't think Grady sounds "backwoods" at all. In fact, it gives me the impression of someone athletic. The worst thing I can think of is its similarity to the slang word "grody" (gross). I don't think it would work on my son (assuming I ever have one), but I can absolutely picture a cute little boy and a grown man named Grady. :-)

Good luck making that final decision!

I'm sorry to say, that's exactly how it sounds to me. To give away my dh's eclectic taste in music, I can't help but think of an Eminem song on a CD he has that talks about a man named Grady returning to his "trailor-park home" to find his wife in bed with another man. If I remember right, you had two or three other very-nice choices (correct?). I think I'd just shy away from this one. Sorry. :(

no, not to me. My dh's grandpa's middle was Grady, and dh wants to use it as a middle for a future son for us. I'm not sold on it yet. My mil works at a highschool and she says there are two highschool boys named Grady. And, they do NOT live anywhere near backwoods, it's actually a quite well to do area. So, I say go for it if you really like it!

good luck,

Sunny

Grady, I like it! Sounds to me like a strong name. Some replies we got said that Teagen sounded too feminine for a boy's name, but right now its our top choice... someone else replied to you that not everyone will like or agree with your choice of name... that's ok, as long as you and DH agree on it. We had enough trouble just coming up with names we both agreed on. Its great to hear other people's opinions, and my theory is that as long as the majority doesn't hate it, then it must be a pretty great name. Good Luck!
