Does Owen work with this mn?

I have wanted to use my maiden name as the mn for my last three pregnancies and so far have not. Now the only name DH and I can agree may not go so well with it, but I think I want to use it anyway. What do you think of Owen Morgan Jayne? Too many "N" sounds or is it all right? My second choice is Toby Morgan Jayne, but DH says too many people think of Toby as a dogs name. Our other children are Eleanor Claire and Robert Edward if that helps. Thanks for your time!

I really like Owen, and the flow doesn't bother me as much if it's simply because you'd like to use a family name (your maiden name) as the mn. I'd probably just use it with a name I loved regardless of the flow, so I think it'd be fine. ;)

Oh, and if it makes you feel better, Owen Jayne by itself, as he will often be called, doesn't sound bad at all. Now if the letters/sounds were switched to Jayen, it'd be a different story, but Jayne (which I'm saying like Jane) being only one syllable and not having the -en sound ending makes the two flow fine IMO. HTH! :)

Morgan is a great name. I like it for a boy but I have a book that says 9 out of 10 new Morgans today are female. But who cares about that. =) Why not use it as the first name. I agree with you hubby about Toby. I had a horse named Toby. But then again you have Spiderman Tobey Maguire. I like Owen. But they just don't seem to go together. I have said them out loud several times and it just seems odd. Between the two I think Toby Morgan Jayne sounds best. But if you like Owen Morgan Jayne it doesn't sound bad and I would go with it. Here are some names that I played around with. They kind of have the same feel as your children's names and these 2 names you like.

Everett Morgan Jayne
Morgan Everett Jayne
Trevor Morgan Jayne
Gavin Morgan Jayne
Carter Morgan Jayne
Eli Morgan Jayne
Mason Morgan Jayne
Julian Morgan Jayne * Julian Jayne, =) may be too many "J" and "N" sounds
Tad Morgan Jayne
Brad Morgan Jayne
Heath Morgan Jayne
Jody Morgan Jayne
Morgan Wyatt Jayne
Morgan Sawyer Jayne
Sawyer Morgan Jayne
Isaac Morgan Jayne
Charles Morgan Jayne * Chaz Jayen, Charlie Jayne, Chuck Jayne, Cal Jayne I don't know that all of those nicknames sound all that great. =)

* I think are these are my 2 favorites.

May not be what you are looking for but HTH. Let me know.

I love the concept of using your maiden name, and Morgan is a really nice name to pass on. I think Owen Morgan flows just fine. I don't see any problems at all.

I like how Owen Morgan sounds together actually! I don't think there are too many "n" sounds. It seems to coordinate to me. I like the name Toby too, but I think I like Owen better.

Good Luck!

I don't really like the way Owen sounds with Morgan Jayne. I prefer Toby. How about Patrick? It sounds great with Eleanor and Robert, and with Morgan Jayne.

Thanks for all your thoughtful feedback! I think in the end we'll go with the two names we like best (and can agree on) rather than worry too much about the flow, since most of you thought they sounded alright together, and as 1 of you pointed out most of the time he'll go by just Owen Jayne withouth the MN. We did consider making Morgan the first name as one of you suggested, but we were worried that it would be too feminine (with his last name already being a girl's first name we want something unambiguous) I will show all your suggestions to my DH and see if there's anything else we'd both consider, but at this point (found out yesterday I'm already dilating!) solid agreement is all we can hope for!
Thanks so much, it really helped!
