Don't laugh...WDYT of.......
Carbon for a little boy. My DF introduced this name to me they other night. I think its a little weird but I think it might be growing on me...am I going crazy. LOL! WDYT...any names with the same "feel" as Carbon but less weird.
Sorry, you're right, I can't get into "Carbon" as a name. Just makes me think of the periodic table and carbon dating, so if I heard it used on a child I'd assume it was chosen by parents who heard it, thought it sounded "cool," and didn't actually have any idea what it was, KWIM? Orrrrrrr ... I might also think it was a kre8iv or accidental misspelling of Corbin, which is a real name very similar in sound to the word carbon! So if you like the sound of carbon, I'd vote for Corbin in a second! ;)

At first glance, I'd assume little Carbon's parents either (a) are uneducated and don't know what carbon is or (b) are science geeks who are obsessed with the periodic table and plan to name his siblings Oxygen and Hydrogen
I do like the sound of it though, so I understand the appeal. I ADORE Corbin, so maybe that would be a good alternative. Also...Calder, Callum, Ciaran, Collier, Corbett and Cullen.
It does have a nice sound but the negative associations are impossible to escape. I do like Corbin/Corben/Corban a lot, as the others suggested. A couple of other possibilities:
Carlin, Carson, Carlton
I agree with pp.
The child will be 'carbon copy' for the rest of his life. I wouldn't do it.
Cargan - little rock in Gaelic
Carlen - little champion in Gaelic
Carston
Carver
AJ, enjoying life with C.
Thanks everyone! I really like the suggestions of Carson and Carver.
