Double Names for Sarah

We have 2 weeks to go and my husband woke up yesterday set on Sarah. It is a family name and I like it but it seems very common to me. I was thinking that maybe I could turn it into a double name to give it more originality. I am the one who likes our family name Noble so I was thinking to name her SARAH NOBLE. I would call her that but I have a feeling most others would just call her Sarah. You guys are great at coming up with combinations so do you have other ideas for a "double name" for Sarah.

Like-
"Sarah Kate"
"Sarah Noble"

Thanks again for all your wonderful ideas and support!!!

I think Sarah Kate is nice. I love the name Sarah, and I think that if you go with a double name, the second should be 1-syl OR a 2-syl name with the accent on the second syl.

1-syl:
Sarah Grace
Sarah Faye
Sarah May

2-syl
Sarah Marie
Sarah Nicole
Sarah Celeste
Sarah Johanne
Sarah Leanne
Sarah Brielle
Sarah Noelle
Sarah Chantal
Sarah Giselle
Sarah Clarisse

My husband's idea was Sarah Marie so you guys think alike. I also really like Sarah Noelle. Sara Kate is still a possiblity but I am not sure how I would officially name her. Katheryn is a family name also, so would I use Katheryn as her middle name and just nick name her Sarah Kate or would I just use Sarah Kate so there is no confusion.

Thanks for the good ideas!

I like the idea of you using Noble in the mn slot, but I don't think "Sarah Noble" has as nice of a flow as a double name. I like Sarah Kate a lot, though, and think Sarah Katheryn, nn Sarah Kate, is very nice.

Some other double names that might work...
Sarah Beth (possible full name Sarah Elizabeth or Sarah Bethany)
Sarah Lynn
Sarah Jane
Sarah Jean
Sarah Mae/May

Sarah Diane (nn Sadie)
Sarah Louise (nn Sarah Lou)
Sarah Michelle (although she'd share her name with the actress)
Sarah Josephine/Joelle (nn Sarah Jo)

Good luck making a decision!

My daughter is Sarah Eleanor and goes by SE, Sarah Eleanor, Sarah E and sometimes by just Sarah. She is in 1st grade and the school knows her as Sarah Eleanor. Good luck!

I like Sarah Noble! I think it's a great compromise for your family-- and Noble seems very appropriate for a mn (even if it's used in that double name way). I also love "Sarah Katherine"...a friend of mine used it about 6 years ago for her second girl and I've been trying to talk my husband into it for our next one. Good luck!

My friend is Sarah-Jane, no one shortens it to Sarah, everybody just calls her Sarah-Jane, or SeeJay!!

I think it's a cute name that will also translate well into adult hood :)

I like Sarah Jane. Jane is my mother in law's name and she would love it!! My main concern is how it will translate into adulthood. Is the friend you are refering to a child or adult? If an adult, does she like it professionally?

Thanks for the info!

So it's good to hear that people are willling to call her by her entire name. When you say she is known at school as Sarah Eleanor, do you mean that's what the teachers and friends all call her? Did you have to ask them to do so or did she introduce herself that way? This double name thing is new for me so I am trying to figure out how it works. What do you usually call her? (I think Sarah E is such a cute nn.) If I was to name my daughter Sarah Noble, do you think it would be difficult to get people to call her that?

Thanks for all the helpful info!
