Drew for a girl?

What do you think of the name Drew for a girl? I really want to name my child after my grandpa who is the greatest man ever and obviously, his name is Andrew. This is our second and according to my husband, last child. It is definately a girl and we can't decide on a name. I keep wondering if she will grow up hating me for naming her something so masculine? What do you all think? Our five year old daughter's name is Sydney Jeanne. We have a few other choices for this one but wondering what the consesus is on Drew. TIA! Deanna

I don't really care for Drew as a girls name, but there are many girls named Drew. Could Andrea, Andrelle, Adrienne work. A possible nn for those names could be Andi. Good luck.

I love Drew for a girl... I do think of Drew Barrymore, though, so I hope you like her (I do!)
I like the spelling Drew better than Dru, but there is a Druscilla Winters on Young and the Restless... she goes by Dru.
Drewscilla could be another way of using the nickname Drew. Anyway, I love Drew. I say go for it.

I've known a few here and there over the years, one who is about 19 is a very close family friend -her mother is my daughter's godmother.

can't say I'm overly crazy about it. I know way too many boys named Andrew who go by Drew rather than Andy.

I really prefer it for a boy, especially as a nn for Andrew. I think that something similar like Andrea or Andra might be a better option.

Drew is very nice. I'd also consider Andie, which is adorable.

Where big sis Sydney already has an androgynous name, I think Drew fits just fine. It's really cute! And it's even more special because it's in honor or someone. I like it. If you should decide against it, though, Andrea is the feminine version of Andrew, so you could go that way too, although I'm not sure I like it as much with Sydney.

I have a niece Drew & I think it is very cute for a girl-I never thought of it as masculine-even though I know of boys named Drew.
