I am actually a very organized, thorough person and for 9 months my Dh and I have had our boy name set. However, now I am starting to freak out.. too hard of a decision! Anyway, our last name is very common, yet you really have to be careful on the names you put with it. I didn't really want anything too trendy-- many times people think they are being original but a thousand other parents have the same idea. My husband and I are both teachers, so we have lots of these "original sounding" names in our classrooms. Coupled with the fact that names conjure up images of students we've had, it has really been a struggle. Anyway, what do you think?
Christopher James
Christopher Jackson
Christopher Jack
Christopher Jase
Besides Jase, the other names have meaning to us. I know Christopher isn't unique at all, but in 12 years of teaching, I have only had 2 in my classroom. (by the way, I have NEVER had a Jennifer-although I have several friends by that name- (the name so often used as an example of being overly used).

thanks so much everyone! its down to Christopher James (after my husband which would be nice) and Christopher Jackson.
you haven't had a Jennifer in your classroom as a teacher, but you probably were in classrooms with Jennifers as a student - that name was prevalanet from the 70s through 80s, fell way off in the 90s and now. I know very few children named Jennifer - mostly all kids in late teens through mid-30s.
Congrats on your little one!
I love the name Christopher.
