Due with Baby Girl.... Emma Clare?
| Tue, 09-06-2005 - 2:37pm |
Hi All,
I am due with our first baby girl and am in love with the name Emma. But, with how popular Emma is these days I want to name her EmmaClare as a first name.
My problem is -- do I give her two first names or combine it into one name. I think if I give her two first names everyone will shorten it and her name will wind up Emma anyway.
Do you think EmmaClaire or EmmaClare is acceptable? It looks kind of made up.
These are our options --
EmmaClaire Olivia Y****
EmmaClare Olivia Y****
Emma Clare Olivia Y****
Emma Claire Olivia Y****
Please give me your honest oppinions. Your help is very much appreciated!

Hey,
I had a little girl back in Sept. of 2004. I am now 25 and pregnant with my 2nd. I have been racking my brain trying to find another unique baby name. It was hard enough the 1st time. I was in the same dilemma with my little girl. I liked the name Reese Lynn, but my husband wanted her to have Marie as her middle name. So, I came up with Reeslyn Marie. I like putting two names together. I am tired of the same ole names. I would spell it like this: Emaclare or Emmaclare. It starts sounding a little different, but you'll get used to it and people will love it. Also, names like Mary Beth are used as a traditional first and middle name, but pronounced like one name MaryBeth. So, you could just do Emma Clare so that she is actually using her middle name. That is what I wanted to do with Reese Lynn. But, whatever you do, don't worry about it sounding weird because I was like that at first and almost didn't do it because everyone was so critical about it. If you like it, do it. Then, you'll start a new trend in your area and you'll be amazed at how many people love her name. Good Luck!
P.S. I also like the name Emmalyn
