Just wondering what you guys think of the name Elodie?? I've been thinking a lot lately about siblings for our new edition (yes getting a bit ahead of myself lol) this baby is going to be Lilah Emily .. i think Lilah and Elodie sound very nice together and im falling in love with the name! Although the only way i can think of getting Josh to chose the name is if i agree that if we have another girl we can name her Abigail (His all time fave name which i knock back numerous amounts of times) as this is what my parents did with my sister and i and it all worked out pretty nicely :P I suppose this is a two part question..

Do you like the name Elodie?

and

Do you think it would be okay for both Josh and I to settle on a name for us both to get the name we really adore? (obviously we would both agree to the middle name :P)

TIA

I'm okay with Elodie; it IS lovely with Lilah, just nms.

As for agreeing on names; we're on baby #7 so I have some practice at this! Yes, it's okay to "settle" on a name. And I really have grown fond of all our kids' names, even the ones that now feel like a settling (only a couple of them). If this baby's a boy, it looks like I'll be "settling" for Ezra as a fn to get Jack as a mn -- a name I've loved since baby #2 but one dh won't go for as a fn. He says Ezra is the only name he likes Jack with -- so I'm going for it!!

Speaking of Abigail, my dh loves this name, too! Our first was going to be Abigail if he'd been a girl (14 years ago); b/c it took off in popularity right after that, I'm so glad we didn't use it, but dh still would name a girl Abigail if I would agree. It IS a pretty name, just too common.

I love Elodie, it's pretty and unique, without being too out there.

I also love it with sister Lilah, IMO that's a great set.

ok, I seem to be alone here, but how do you pronounce that name? I've never seen it before. I love Lilah... congrats on choosing a name for your first! And, to answer your second question. If that is what you two agree on doing, then its a great solution, and you both get the name you love (unless you don't end up having a 3rd girl). who knows, though, we have 3 children, all boys! Good luck!
