I think it is nice to honor your family members, but the name is a little bit of a mouthful. What would you call her? Emmy for short? I love that name. You know what? I say go for it. . .she'll be honored to be named for her family. But I definitely would prefer to be called Emmy over Emmylou, if I were her. Maybe Lou Lou would be a fun nick name :)

hello!! its a cute name and i think its great that you want to honor many family members-but emmylou rayanne is a bit long. what about emily or emma? then you could use 2 middle names-emily rayanne louise or emma lou rayanne...or how about you use the ann and do something like:
Annabelle rayalou?
louanna ray?
joanne rae-louise?
louisa rayanne?

good luck!!

I want to like the name, with all of those family ties, but it has a clunky sound, the way many (though not all) mash-up names do.

I think Emmy is a great name. I'm not sure about Emmylou, and even less sure aout Rayanne. It's tough to accomplish so many things with one name, and I think what you have in Emmylou Rayanne is a name that sounds like you were trying to squeeze in the name of too many relatives. Would you consider Emmy Louanne?

People have said the same things about my chosen girls name. Jo'leigh Robbie-ann. Its a family name that means something to u and will mean A LOT to her someday. I hope u don't change it! Emmylou rayanne is a beautiful name. And yes its got southern charm but when is that ever a bad thing?? Its not like everyone you meet knows your middle name I think "emmy" sounds just fine for everyday use.

Reading this has helped me finalize my choice for a girl. Jo'leigh Robbie-ann Mccutcheon may be a mouthful but its a name with purpose.
