Okay, girls! After much debate and consternation attempting to find a MN for Luke, I actually came upon something DH was enthusiastic about ... whohoo!

Remember now, a brother to Zachary Ty and Zane Michael. Since each of them have one "common" name (Zachary, Michael) and one more creative name (Ty, Zane), I would like to stick with the same idea.

How about ....

Luke Zephan Richards (Zach, Zane & Luke)

or ...

Zephan Luke Richards (Zach, Zane & Zeph/Zeff)

Which do you prefer? My first instinct is that Zach, Zane and Luke is very classy, while Zach, Zane and Zeph sounds a tad contrived. But, I really like the idea of Luke having a Z connection, don't you think? I believe DH and I prefer to use primarily the first name, so we'll really need to think hard about which order to choose. I am not 100% opposed to using a third Z name.

Any comments? (Hopefully good ones, but be honest!)

TIA,

Beppy

Luke Zephan gets my vote. I think Zack, Zane and Luke sound great - yet he still has the 'Z' connection.

I can see your reasons for keeping the Z thing in his name somehow, but I think that three Zs are way too much. I would absolutely go with Luke Zephan.

I vote for Zephan Luke. I don't always like same letter siblings, but in this case, I like Zach, Zane, and Zeph. Very cute! Zephan Luke is so cool sounding. And even though the names look similar, each Z name has a very different sound, so I think it works.

But Luke Zephan also sounds nice.

Good luck!

Luke Zephan, because Ty and Zane are really not very uncommon (I see each of them in about 1/2 of the boys' polls I read), whereas Zephan certainly is uncommon.

Luke Zephan is a perfect fit and doesn't overdo the Z thing. Julia

Just a thought-what about the name Zebuelin/Zebulynne? Zeb for short. I have a friend by that name-different but sounds nice with Zach and Zane(which I like a lot!)Lucas Zebulynne or Zebulynn Lucas-play around with it. Hope it helps-oh, I prefer the Z name first, then a more traditional name. Keep the tradition going.

Good Luck!

Thank you so much, ladies! I'm so relieved that we've finally come up with the right combination. Using a more common name like Luke, I really wanted a distinctive MN, and Zephan is pretty out there! I believe we lean towards Luke Zephan vs. Zephan Luke, and primarily calling him Luke, but at least he'll have a Z option like his brothers if he chooses.

Now I can sit back, start nesting, and just wait to find out if we'll get to use this lovely boy name, or if we'll need to dust off our 5 year old girl name ... *LOL*!

Many hugs and thanks a million!

Thanks for the idea, Sarah! I adore Zeb, and Zach, Zane and Zeb sounds pretty cute, I agree. But I'm not so fond of Zebulon, for some reason. Plus, DH seems really fond of Luke Zephan, so I think I better jump at this agreement while I can!

Thanks again!

Beppy ;)
