Note: To clarify something that has come up in the posts, we are considering Evelina instead of Evelyn bec. it is the same in English and Italian (she will speak both courtesy of DH) and it will go with a VERY Italian last name. We found it next to Eva in our Italian baby name book.

Thanks so much to you and the other Evelina lovers for the moral support! I understand why some people prefer the simpler name style of Evelyn, but Evelina really goes better with our last name and our style. I agree that 2/3 saying its okay or better isn't THAT bad for an unusual name. I think the sure sign that it is a good name for my daughter is that I am not too shaken by the voting. I absolutely still love the name!

I think you may have found THE name, in that case ... and I completely agree. If a few negative votes don't change how you feel about it, it's likely a great choice for you. FWIW, it's rare for any name to get mostly positive reactions (and yet we still choose one, eventually LOL). Someone, somewhere, will always think a name is too trendy, too old-fashioned, too popular, too different, etc. But short of any of these perceptions having negative, real-life connotations (such as a name that might be perceived as indicative of lower intelligence or
