My husband and I really like the name Ezra Daniel if we have a boy, but we have been getting mixed messages from people. I would like to know what you honestly think about the name (strangers are better at telling the truth!) Thank you.

OK, here's my opinion. When I see the name Ezra, I assume that the family is Jewish and that it's a culturally appropriate name for their son. To my ears it is not an attractive sounding name. Love the name Daniel, though.

I kind of like it. I think it will grow on your family. It's just beyond Joseph and Samuel so I think peoples first response may not be the greatest.

I agree that biblical names are coming back into popularity and I think that it is a great name that is in the same pattern, but less common. I think Daniel completes the name. Best of luck to you!! Good choice!

Ezra is one of those Biblical names that, when you 1st hear it, takes you by surprise. It's not "out there", though, & I think it's a name that people can adjust to quite quickly unlike some other names that just seem odd no matter how much you hear the name. Did any of that make sense?!

I like it! Ezra gives off a very cool artistic type person vibe. It's short & simple, but you're still very unlikely to run into anyone else w/this name. The combination of Ezra Daniel is perfect, because the well-known Daniel balances out the off-beat Ezra. Very cool!

Honestly, I thought it was a little strange when I first heard it, and b/c it ends in an a, it has a more feminine sound. But my good friend's sister named her boy Ezra Dan, and it has really grown on me. He's the only Ezra I've ever met, and now (even though it's not my style) I think it's a cool name.

I love Ezra! It's my fav. children's authors name...( Ezra Jack Keats) we would have used it for a DS #2 but we've got a Jack. I say go for it.
