What are the odd or unique names in your family? All I have is Dilynn Ruth (niece), Corky (cousin), and a brother who's name is spelled ERIN instead of AARON.

Mercedes-mom and grandma

Souihlil (I probably spelt it wrong, I never could quite get it.) - cousin, pronounced sue-lie

Sari- another cousin (sah-di)

Pena-mom's cousin (pee-na)

Maricarmen- moms cousin

I think that;s it..there's probably more in extended family that I don't know about!

I have quite a few between cousins, aunts and siblings:

Allene

Sherelle

Nelda

Banessa (like Vanessa with a B)

Star

Joshaua (strange spelling)

Maudi (pronounce Maw-dee)

Elmer Junior (not jr. after someone - just Junior as a middle name)

Deon (combo of parent's names - Deb and Don)

I'm sure there's more, but that's a sampling.

The only family that I know of that has a name that is kinda different is my cousin's daughter. Her name is Harlee.

I do have a friend whose name is Kadri (in English most people pronounce it like Cod-ri). Her family is from Estonia. Her name always got comments when we were growing up because it was so unusual.

Interesting names in some of your responses. LOL.

My grandfather had a brother & sister who were twins. Their names were Tracy & Beulah which always struck me as a very odd combo.

My late aunt's name was Thelma, but her family always planned on calling her by her Hebrew name, Shifra. That got NNed to Shiffie. Her sister couldn't say that and called her "Tiffie." The name stuck. The entire family called her Tiffie. Professionally though she was Thelma. My cousin's (her grandson) wife just had a baby and named her "Tiffie." So the baby has the NN, but not the "real name."
