Hello everyone!
I have been revising/changing/expanding my list quite a bit. The names I like range from the very familiar to a few that I have never actually heard in real life before. I am interested in feedback on some of the names I like that are the less common ones. (Right now my list is quite long!) I have seen a couple of these around the board, but they are not common in my area.
If it makes any difference, my DS is Kyle Parker N. and baby's heritage is English/German.
I included the origins listed in my book, just because I think name origins are interesting; they don't factor much into my final choice of name.
Please give honest feedback but gently if possible :) I've got crazy pg hormones right now !!

boys:
Holt (English) -- Very nice. Sounds strong and solid.
Rhys (Welsh) -- love it. A favorite of mine. You might have some issues with all the little girl Reeses out there. But if that doesn't bother you, it's a great choice.
Seth (Hebrew) -- lovely. I don't understand why this isn't more popular. It's such a great name.
Thayer (French) -- Like it a lot. I like it with Kyle.
Tage (Danish) -- love this one too.
Zamiel (German form of Samuel) -- not a huge fan
Zane (English) -- this one sounds trendy to me, your other choices are much more unique
Girls:
Elysia (Latin) -- I can only think of the Elysian Fields when I see this. Not a bad association, but it's what I think of. I also think you will have a lot of confusion with Alicia/Alisha/etc. Not my favorite.
Kiele (Hawaiian) -- way too close to Kyle for a fn. Could be a nice mn.
Laine (French)(possible nn Laney) -- I like it.
Raina / Rayna (German/English) -- not my favorite, but I do like it.
Raine (Latin) -- not a fan, looks/sounds like Rain which seems like a hippy/silly name to me. Like Raina MUCH better.
Rihana / Riana (Arabic) -- Love Riana. I think it's lovely and underused. Rihanna might be confusing.
Skye (Arabic / Dutch) -- not a fan. Like Rain(e) this seems appropriate only for a starving artist in Berkeley.
Sloane (Irish) -- LOVE Sloane. I'm a huge fan of this name.
Tierney (Irish) -- love Tierney too, thouh I prefer it as a middle name. It's on my mn list for boys. I just think the "ey" ending is too cute for a formal first name.
Overall, a great list. I think you have lots of
Hi! Here are my thoughts:
Holt (English) This is interesting. I've never heard it before, but it could definitely grow on me!
Rhys (Welsh) LOVE this! It's so handsome and so refreshing to see it spelled this way rather than Reese, which is nms.
Seth (Hebrew) - This is very handsome. Goes well with Kyle.
Thayer (French) - I actually know a boy and a girl with this name. I like it for a boy better.
Tage (Danish) - Does this rhyme with Page? Or is it pron. with a hard g?
Zamiel (German form of Samuel) - Never seen this one before either. It could grow on me I think, but you have other choices I much prefer.
Zane (English) - This is spunky and hip. I like it.
Girls:
Elysia (Latin) Not sure about this one...is it pron. like Alicia? If so, I think that might be confusing or seem like a made up spelling.
Kiele (Hawaiian) Too close to Kyle? Possible mn? - I think this is pretty but is too close to Kyle.
Laine (French)(possible nn Laney) - Like this a lot! I know three of them weirdly enough because I assume it's fairly uncommon. I know a Lane, a Laine, and a Lanie. I like Laine nn Laney or Elaine nn Laney.
Raina / Rayna (German/English) I like this a lot. Both spellings are nice.
Raine (Latin) - I much prefer Rayna.
Rihana / Riana (Arabic) - This is pretty. I like Riana better.
Skye (Arabic / Dutch) This is nms.
Sloane (Irish) - This just seems a little masculine to me.
Tierney (Irish) - This is cute.
With Kyle Parker, I LOVE Seth and Rhys for boys and Rayna and Laine for girls.
Hi there,
I think a lot of your choices are very interesting. I tend to be less adventurous, so my favourites from your list are Rhys, Elysia and Laine. I was not sure how to pronounce Kiele, but it looks pretty. It is a bit close to Kyle, however.
Holt (English) - Very nice. I have never met a Holt, but I like the sound of it. I also like Holden.
Rhys (Welsh)- Another nice choice. I also like that you have chosen the Welsh spelling as opposed to the more common Reese.
Seth (Hebrew) - Nice name. I've met several men/boys named Seth.
Thayer (French) - okay
Tage (Danish)- Sorry, but I do not care for this one. Looks and sounds odd to me.
Zamiel (German form of Samuel) - I dont care for it.
Zane (English)- Nice and quite popular in my area.
Rhys is my favorite of your boys names. I also like Holt and Zane.
Girls:
Elysia (Latin)- I'm not a fan of this name. There are too many similar names to get it confused with (Alicia, Alesia, Elise, etc)
Kiele (Hawaiian) Too close to Kyle? Possible mn? - Way too close to Kyle. Do you like Maile (pronounced MY-lee)? It is also Hawaiian.
Laine (French)(possible nn Laney)- LOVE LOVE LOVE this name!!!
Raina / Rayna (German/English) - Not a fan. It seems slightly low rent to me (sorry, I didnt know how else to say it)
Raine (Latin)- see Raina/Rayna
Rihana / Riana (Arabic)- I prefer Rian/Rhyann/Ryann
Skye (Arabic / Dutch) - Too hippy for me.
Sloane (Irish) - LOVE LOVE LOVE this name!!!!!!!
Tierney (Irish)- Very nice
Laine and Sloane are my favorites of your girl names. Teirney is nice too.
Rhys pronounced like Reese? I like it
Seth -nice
Zane - almost used this for my son, but changed mind at last minute
Girls:
Elysia -Like it
Skye (Arabic / Dutch)-- I like it
Rebecca
boys:
Holt (English)-I like this its strong and masculine.
Rhys (Welsh)-Like it but I hear lots of little girls being called Reese now
Seth (Hebrew)-to me its a little too plain
Thayer (French)-I like this its cool
Tage (Danish)-like this too
Zamiel (German form of Samuel)nms the way it is said turns me off
Zane (English)I know a little boy named this. Its nms but not bad
my fav.boy name: Holt Matthew(possible MN)
Girls:
Elysia (Latin)-Its ok nms
Kiele (Hawaiian) Too close to Kyle? Possible mn?-like it but Kyle and Kiele may be confusing
Laine (French)(possible nn Laney)-I like this
Raina / Rayna (German/English)-nms
Raine (Latin)-I like it for a middle name
Rihana / Riana (Arabic)-I think its should be spelled Rhiannon.
Skye (Arabic / Dutch)-love it
Sloane (Irish)-NMS
Tierney (Irish)-I really like this name
MY fav. girl name: Rhiannon Skye
HTH...you have picked beautiful names!
Dawn
I think all of your boy choices are great except Zamiel. It is nms at all.
From the girl's list I like Laine and Tierney best. Sloane is nice - but I like it better for a boy. :)
Good luck!
