I made a list of all the baby names I liked for boys and girls and then went over it with my husband and made a list of the ones we both like. Now I want a name that is kinda unique not a name that is typical like Jen bob mike becky ect....I didnt like my name (darby) when I was younger but now that im an adult I get a TON of compliments on my name and I am happy I have it. My sisters name is jen and I know like 12 other jens so I just want something different. How do you know what is TOO different. Like we like the name oliver but some people are like eew if its a boy his middle name has to be john and so it cant start with a J or a D cause our last name is Davies and it just sounds too funny like my new name Darby Davies.....sounds to weird. How do you decide if you should just pick it even if other people dont like it. Here are the names we agree on.....anyone that will give me feed back THANKS!!

BOYS

Lincoln
Korbin
Everette
Wade
Trenton
simon
logan

Girls

Layla

I think Oliver is great. Definitely don't give up on a name you like just because of a few people saying they don't like it. Some people dislike any name that they don't find extremely familiar, those same people either have very, very traditional taste in names (their favorite names are Matthew, Robert and Sarah) or love trendy names (they think Aidan, Jacob and Madison are just amazing), and either way they think that Oliver is really, really odd. It's not. These are the same people that thought Darby was weird and were parents of those other 11 Jens. They'll learn to like the name when they meet a little Oliver--maybe yours?

Of the names you listed, my favorites are: Simon, Logan and Oliver, though Logan's pretty popular at the moment as part of the unisex trend. For girls, I like Willow, Piper and Olivia, Olivia perhaps being too popular for your tastes.

Hi there!

Here are my thoughts on your list:

BOYS

Lincoln-That's nice. It sounds good w/your ln, it's reconizable, but not common.

Korbin-I like this a lot, but really only w/a 'C'.

Everette-This is maybe not the best w/Davies, but it's very handsome. Although, Everett is the correct spelling.

Wade-Very cute, but Wade Davies does not sound very good.

Trenton-That's good.

simon-I don't love it w/Davies, but I do love it in general.

logan-That's fine, but very popular.

Girls

Layla-Not the best w/your last name, but it's lovely.

willow-That's not my favorite, but it's perfectly fine.

piper-Meh...that's a bit too much.

Autumn-NMS, but not bad.

Paige-I don't like this w/your ln, plus it's very bland sounding imo.

Olivia-Great name, but super super popular.

Hope this helps!
