FEEDBACK!!! TIA!!!

Ok...poss. brother would be William (Will) Hardy Watson Please be honest, and suggest poss. combos. Meanings are very important to DH.

Grace (Gracie) still #1choice for DH
Olivia (Livi)
Charlize (after DH grandfather Charles)
Emma
Vivian (Vivi)
Miranda - closest I could find to DH name's meaning beloved
Victoria (Tori)
Kate
Gemma (MY fav. at the moment)Thought this was compromise w/ Emma being so popular but DH doesn't like "out there names" WDYT?
Adora (Addie/Dori)(new one?)
Esme (Also, my choice)
Sarah/Sally

nn in () are just options not guarantees! I like names until our last name is put w/ it. Any more names that would fit? I think my fav. combos at the moment are Olivia Charlize and Grace Vivian and Gemma Grace.

Thanks!!!

Grace (Gracie) - you know my thoughts :) I think this should be the mn and your dh calls your daughter this as his pet name

Olivia (Livi) - verry sweet, I love the combo of Olivia Charlize

Charlize (after DH grandfather Charles) - cute, but not my fav

Emma - way too popular

Vivian (Vivi) - this just sounds so mature - I can't picture this on a child or a 20 year-old

Miranda - a little dated

Victoria (Tori) - I love this! Victoria Grace is a wonderful name!!!! I think that this is my fav on your list

Kate - too short for me

Gemma - I think that for those who spend time on name boards, etc Gemma doesn't sound that far out there or strange. However, when I run this name by people who are mainstream in their naming style (Sarah, Emily, Katherine, etc) they have a negative reaction to the name. I like it, but many find it too weird. I that Gemma Grace is great name that fits both a child and an adult. The nicknames could be either Gem or Gigi (from the double G's). I would continue advocating for this name since you seem to like it so much.

Adora (Addie/Dori)(new one?) - I don't care for this name. I do like Audra, nn Addie

Esme (Also, my choice) - nms

Sarah/Sally - this is solid option.. Sarah Grace is a classic name and you can never go wrong with a classic. I also like Sarah, nn Sadie - Sadie Grace is a cute double name.

Good luck!
Brooke

TRUDY???

I haven't run it by DH yet, but I just came across it. He really loves his name/David and loves the meaning Beloved. Trudy means beloved in some sources.

WDYT???

Thanks.

Okay! Here are my thoughts:

Grace (Gracie) still #1choice for DH-It just doesn't do it for me. Gracie is perfectly cute, but Grace seems stail these days.

Olivia (Livi)-This is also way over done, but I still love it.

Charlize (after DH grandfather Charles)-I don't care for this one. Charlotte, although also over done, is much sweeter imo.

Emma-Super popular, but a nice name.

Vivian (Vivi)-I can't get into Vivian, but it's perfectly fine. Vivi is adorable.

Miranda - closest I could find to DH name's meaning beloved-That's nms for some reason.

Victoria (Tori)-I like Vicotoria, but not Tori so much. What about Victoria nn Vivi!?

Kate -That's a nice classic, but super popular. I also prefer this as a nn for Katherine.

Gemma (MY fav. at the moment)Thought this was compromise w/ Emma being so popular but DH doesn't like "out there names" WDYT?-But it's so pretty!

Adora (Addie/Dori)(new one?)-I like Adora. Dori is nms, although Addie is cute. Unfortunatly, I think that Addie is becoming very popular. Just call her Adora. It's really nice.

Esme (Also, my choice)-That's pretty.

Sarah/Sally -Aw, Sally is fun.

Hope this helps!

Grace (Gracie) still #1choice for DH -- virtue names are not generally my style to begin with, but this one is very overdone. The more I see it, the more I dislike it, to be honest.
Olivia (Livi) -- very popular in my area, but fine otherwise. It's never been a favorite, although I do love Oliver for a boy.
Charlize (after DH grandfather Charles) -- like Charlize, especially for your dh's grandfather, but I prefer Charlotte (which has a more classic feel to me)
Emma -- like Olivia, popular, but still nice. I prefer Emeline/Emmeline or Amelia/Emilia.
Vivian (Vivi) -- love it. I also like Vivienne.
Miranda - closest I could find to DH name's meaning beloved -- not my favorite (see my reply to you Trudy thread )
Victoria (Tori) -- fine, but I prefer the above-mentioned Vivian. You may also like Violet.
Kate -- short and sweet. I prefer a more formal option, just to give her some the choice, but this is ok too.
Gemma (MY fav. at the moment)Thought this was compromise w/ Emma being so popular but DH doesn't like "out there names" WDYT? -- love this as a compromise between Grace and Emma! Love it. I know it's not overly-popular or anything, but I wouldn't call it "out-there," KWIM? It's familiar and simple ... definitely not a hard name to pronounce or remember, not overly-frilly or elaborate, not out-there at all. ;) Just point out those things, as well as how similar it is to names he wouldn't consider too out-there ... Emma, Jenna, etc. Maybe he can still be convinced.
Adora (Addie/Dori)(new one?) -- seems a bit too forced. I do like Darla, Dara, Adair, Dorothy, Isidora, etc., however.
Esme (Also, my choice) -- I like Esme, but if dh thinks Gemma is too much, I can't see him agreeing to this one
Sarah/Sally -- Sarah is always nice, but I prefer the nn Sadie. You may also like Serafina, nn Sera or Seri

HTH

Thanks for all your input! Unfortunately, we still do not have a decision. The problem is we "like" all of these names but we are just not in LOVE w/ one. KWIM? I can say that I LOVE William Hardy and Will and it just works. DH IS in love w/ one! LOL! (Grace) We are really warming up to Gemma but I am afraid she would always have to spell it/correct it for people b/c they might think Jenna/Emma?!?!? WDYT? I have an uncle Jim and I do NOT want people to think this was after him either.

Anyway, DH came up w/ GRACIE DAY last night...this is very cute but I would want a formal name Grace Da....

Any IDeas? Thanks so much!!!

hello!! while i like just about all the names on your list, the favorite combo that i came up with is:
grace olivia. that way you could use grace-which ive noticed IS popular for middle names but not so much for first names-and olivia. you could call her liv, livi, gracie, or whatever you choose...i think grace is a very feminine, classic, beautiful name...jmo. good luck!!

Hey, after reading all of your posts and thinking about names you have said DH likes, such as Gracie Day, he likes his name David, you do not like too common, I thought about my friend's name, Dacia Grace(pronouced Day-c-a(with a short a) She is about 30 now but everyone compliments her name all the time, thought it might work for you.
