our last name is longoria (sounds like it's spelled). that means all the l names are out- right? i love the name lane (a family name) but lane longoria sounds a bit redundant. and anything with an l at the end is out too- right? abigail longoria? the l's sort of flow together to make one name. our dd's name is emeline (emma-LINE not leen) but we call her eme. sometimes the l in the middle of the name sounds a bit awkard to me. where do i draw the line here? i can't rule out all names with l's in them! i seem to be drawn to them :)

what do ya'll think? any suggestions?

tia!

Believe me, I feel your pain. LOL. My last name is Eanes which rhymes with beans so all the names that end in ee or ie or ey are out and those are the ones I like!

I don't think you have to rule out all names with an L in it. The only ones that sound redundant to me are the ones that end in L. If they begin with L or have an L in the middle, I think they sound fine. Good luck!

I agree with the last post ... unless the name ends in an L, I think you're ok. If you want to avoid it on a regular basis though, you could go with something else, like Delaney, and then use Lane or Laney as a nickname (which wouldn't be said with the last name as often, so it wouldn't be that big a deal to have the two L beginnings as much).
