I know I am getting annoying, but I am still searching for names! We have came pretty close to Ayla these past couple days and we want that to be a nickname. can you think of any names that can have a nn Ayla. if you KWIM?? Thanks for putting up with me!!!

I don't think you need to have a nn for Ayla. It is a short name so it is quick and easy to say. My dd name is Claudia and that is what we call her. Sometimes it is annoying when people are trying to think of a nn for their children. If you are going to name your dd Isabella but call her Bella, why don't you just name her Bella. JMO. Also some people make us dumb nn just so their child has one.

I think you can get away with the nickname Ayla for just about any A name. Here are a few that came to mind:

Ainsley or Ansley
Aileen
Ailish
Aine
Aisling
Alice
Allison

I also like Aila as the spelling for the nickname, but either one is really pretty. Also, any A name with the middle name Lila, or something similar that ends in -la, would lend itself to the nickname Ayla. Or, really any first name that starts with an A, and middle name that starts with an L.
