Hi, this is the first time I have used the message board. I decided to go ahead and post after reading everyone's great suggestions on names. I am looking for help myself. I have one son, eight months old and we have found ourselves expecting a second child. The only problem is...we had a really difficult time with names the first time around, especially boys names.

My Husband's name is unque enough, Quinn and my name is Nichole our son's name is unique and fun and we want the second to be the same (Colter Titan Vance). So far for a girl I like the following

Riley
Peyton
Ashlyn

But what about middles...we have no traditions to follow

For a boy
Blythe
Holden
Asher
Brayden

again I am lost for middle names

Any help in the first name categroy and the middle name category would be welcome.

Congrats to all of the moms and soon to be moms out there.

I wouldn't consider Riley to be unique. It's in the top 60, with Rylee at #135, Reilly at #902, Rylie at #316, and Ryleigh at #408. And then you've also got all the little boy Riley's (106), Rylee's (777), and Reilly's (985). Payton is #159, with Peyton at #134. And, again, you have all the boy Payton's (237), and Peyton's (161). Ashlyn, is my favorite name here, but it's #131, with Ashlynn at #288.

Blythe is nms, boy or girl. However, it it hasn't been in the top 1000 for the last 15 years at least for either gender. Holden is cute, and is #370, so not too popular. I also love Asher and it's #337. I like Brayden too, but it's more popular, again with tons of spellings. Brayden at #107, Braden at #153, Braeden at #324, Braiden at #667, Bradyn at #788, and Braydon at #417.

If you are wanting a unique name, then my favorites for you are Ashlyn for a girl, and Holden for a boy.

Actually, Blythe is originally a boys' name, but it had been used for a girls for a very long time, and isn't in the top 1000 for either gender for the past 15 years, so I think most people think of it as a boys' name. It's usually pronounced blEYEth. But the original prn is BLEIDH
