FN and LN starting with the same Sound

I was wondering if anyone had opinions about having your childs first name and last name starting with the same letter or sound. For example Ben Berry or Steven Smith. I have always kinda not been a fan, but right now I'm really liking a name that starts with the same letter and sound as my last name...Caleb C___ (LN makes a "key" sound) So does that sound too harsh, what are your opinions? TIA

Well I'm probably biased but I don't have a problem with FN and LN having the same letter as long as it doesn't sound too similar or repetitive. My name was Becky B before I got married (although strictly speaking I was a Rebecca B)and my DH is MM.
Caleb is a lovely name and unless your LN begins with a Kay sound I think it would be fine.

Well, speaking from experience, I grew up as Kelli Kinsey (pretty rhymey!) and hated it! I was sooo happy to change my ln when I got married. LOL
I don't have a problem with the fn starting with the same letter in general. It just depends how it sounds with the ln (and not actually knowing your ln I can't say). I do think it helps if the two have a different amount of syllables, so assuming your ln isn't two syllables as well, then it could work.

My nephew is Caleb Christopher C_______. I say go for it. I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I for the most part do not like the first and last names starting with the same letter (or the same sound)
however, I know plenty of people whose names do and to be honest their names sound fine to me. Once in a while I hear one that I think doesn't sound right.
The thing is - sometimes they do sound OK, but sometimes they really sound bad together. The only way to really know is to say the first and last name together and see what you think - DON'T say the middle name with it - say it without the middle name to get the idea.
My concern with what you're saying is there is a 2nd hard-C sound in the middle of the last name as well. makes me think it would be too much.
good luck
