freaking out about names already!

Alright, well I just found this site and I think it's awesome. I'm Devon and I just turned 25. I have a dd named Ariana Joy(Joy is also my granma's, mom's, and my middle name)who will turn 3 in October. Well, the reason I wound up here is we just found out I am pregnant again, and I'd due May 2008. So I have a long time to go but dh doesn't like to discuss names and I need an outlet to run some of my ideas so far by.

So here's my list as of now.. tell me what you like, what you don't like and whatever you think about the names! They are very short and I need more suggestions!

for girls:

Bianca
Stella
Cecilia
Daniella
Taryn
Greta
Audra

for boys:

Jared
Nolan
Keegan
Taylor
Toby
Reed
Kieran

as far as middle names I'd want to use another family name. For girls.. Eloise, Celeste, Rosalind and Jacqueline are some of the ones I like from our families but I still have to think of some more. For boys some family names I like are George, Elliott, Patrick, Calvin and Gregory (my dh's name).

Hi there, Devon. Congrats on #2!

Ariana Joy is gorgeous! You seem to have wonderful tastes.

Here are my thoughts on the lists:

for girls:

Bianca-Honestly, I don't personally love it. I think it's an association thing. But it really is very nice w/Ariana, & a perfectly good name.

Stella-I love it! Perfect.

Cecilia-This is nice.

Daniella-I don't mind this, but it reminds me of the over done suepr 80s Danielle.

Taryn-This doesn't hold a candle to the feminine Ariana.

Greta-Very sweet.

Audra-I like this a lot. You might want to avoid another 'A' though, unless it's the only one that you guys really love.

for boys:

Jared-Hm. See Bianca.

Nolan-Oh, very nice.

Keegan-Meh, this one I don't love as much. It's not awful though.

Taylor-I'd stay away from this. It's been used way too much on girls.

Toby-Okay, I absolutly love Tobias w/Ariana. You could definitly call him Toby as a nn.

Reed-This isn't bad.

Kieran-Very nice. Beware of pronounciation issues though.

Hope this helps!

Wow, you have so many of my favorites on your list. Ariana Joy is a beautiful name.

Bianca - love this, but not sure I would use it with Ariana - too similar in sound
Stella - nice
Cecilia - love this too. Cecilia and Ariana are a nice pair.
Daniella - another favorite. Daniella Celeste would be very pretty.
Taryn - nice; Taryn Eloise flows well
Greta - not crazy about this one, but it goes well with Ariana
Audra - love it, but too similar to Ariana.

for boys:

Jared - nice, but pretty popular around here. I know several under 5.
Nolan - love it. Nolan Elliott, Nolan Gregory, Nolan Patrick are all great.
Keegan - nice
Taylor - I know too many girls with this name. Maybe Tanner?
Toby - love Tobias with nn Toby.
Reed - I prefer Reid, but this is a very dashing name. Reid Elliott, Reid Gregory.
Kieran - okay

Girls:

Lydia
Sofia
Gemma
Stacia
Colleen
Danica

Audra and Taryn are the only ones I like for a girl. For a boy I like Jared, Keegan, Taylor, Reed and Kieran. I think using family names for middle names is a great idea. Here are some names from my list of likes:

Girls:
Kaleigh
Peyton
Brooklyn
Macy

Boys:
Tennyson (my dh came up with that one; it's an older author's name)
Tanner
Kassell (Pronounced like Castle-my grandfather's name-Cajun family.)
Cameron

Those are just a few. Good luck with everything!
