I have found from this board that the trends are quite different between America and Australia. WDYT?

This list is quite similar to the top UK names. I'd read that the US was a bit "behind" UK naming trends (not sure it should really be thought of as progressive like that), while seeming to desire greater uniqueness in their names (Destiny, Liberty, Nevaeh, different spellings, etc.). Also, different populations create different top names (ie: more Hispanic names on US list). Here in Canada, our trends are apparently closer to those of the UK. I've noticed that a bit but not nearly to the same extent as in Australia. We have our own population factors that may make us a little different. It's hard to know. I read local birth announcements but have never seen a comprehensive Canadian list of top names, other than the top two (top girl & top boy) that appear in the paper every year.
