Can't decide between Caroline Mason and Avery Mason for a girl. Caroline seems to be getting too common. Baby will be here in one week and we need to decide! Your input would be so helpful!

Thanks!

Caroline! I'm not into unisex names or last names as first names (without any family meaning behind them) so Avery is nms. Caroline is a very pretty name, and it's an established name that is serious enough if she becomes a high powered professional.

I love both names and Avery is on my list of favorites right now. I think it depends on whether you want something more traditional or just a little different. I don't think that Caroline is too popular yet. Sorry I'm not a big help, I just don't think you could go wrong with either. Congrats!

Caroline Mason GMV!

Caroline is a classy classic that's only a teeny bit more popular than Avery.

I dislike Avery for several reasons: it's a boy's name to me, it's it's the name of a label company and reminds me of Aviary, a place for birds.

Caroline ranked at 67 for 2003 (the 2004 stats aren't out yet) while Avery placed at 90. Avery's more trendy to me (as it doesn't appear on the charts at all until 1990) while Caroline's timeless to me since it ranks from 1900 on. I think Caroline's perfect!

If you name her Avery Mason, you'll have to explain to every single person you meet that she's a girl, not a boy. With Caroline, there is no question.

Caroline doesn't seem popular in my area. I know a 10-year-girl named Caroline, that's about it among young children

Avery, first of all I just don't care for it, but the bigger concern is the unisex potential. it goes for both.

because I'm also not into the classics like Caroline, that isn't quite my style, but between the two I would still recommend Caroline with the nickname Carrie or Carli

good luck

Since "Mason" is much more 'boyish' - I would go with "Caroline"... Avery is so unisex that with Mason as the mn I think you'll have to tell people 'it's a girl' a lot. Even if she's dressed in pink people seem to go by what the name is... Besides, it's a little more classy and softer... GL~

Caroline for sure!!! Especially with the mn Mason. If you go with Avery Mason- people will think you have a boy. Avery is traditionally a male name, despite its recent popularity as a girl's name. there is a 4 year old little boy named Avery and a 2 year old little boy named Mason that live on our street!

Caroline gets my vote for several reasons. Mason is very masculine and still primarily a boys name. Avery is too unisex for such a middle name. Avery is cute but I think it works best with a feminine mn. Like another poster said, even though Caroline may be more common (and I really don't think it's all that common) than Avery, Avery is more trendy and may seem dated in about 10 years.
