I should have added on here that Abigail is our "safe" name....it's the one we both like but really would rather not use because of it's popularity. I really want something recognizable, but different....something you don't hear every day. I think Jillian ranks somewhere around 150 on the top name list so while it's a name you know it's not one that's overly used....I hope that makes sense lol...TIA for the help!!!!

Savannah gmv. I like Abigail a lot, too, but I'm with you on the popularity of it. Tessa and Nina are cute, but I have a hard time picturing them on a professional woman. What about Teresa (nn Tess/Tessa) or something that would give the nn Nina (not sure what)?

Other ideas...
Samantha (nn Sami/Sam)
Melinda
Caroline (nn Carrie/Cara/Carly)
Amelia
Cara/Kara
Cora
Dora
Dana
Anna

Good luck making a decision!

I voted Tessa but like an earlier poster, would prefer seeing Tessa as a nickname for Teresa. Jillian has a full name, why not let her sister have one too?

Teresa is ranked even lower on the SSA charts than Jillian, so it's a lovely choice that will stand out in a sea of sound alike names. Plus, I think Jillian & Teresa, nicknames Jill & Tessa sound lovely together!

I'm not much of one for suggesting middle names as I'm a believer of family names in the middle, but if you're not going that route, here are a bunch that sound good with Teresa:
Teresa Adele
Teresa Anne
Teresa Belle
Teresa Bryony
Teresa Camille
Teresa Cecile
Teresa Daisy
Teresa Eleanor
Teresa Eve
Teresa Faith
Teresa Fleur
Teresa Giselle
Teresa Grace
Teresa Helene
Teresa Ivy
Teresa Jane
Teresa Joanna
Teresa Josephine
Teresa Joy
Teresa Kay
Teresa Linnea
Teresa Lenore
Teresa Louise
Teresa Mae/May
Teresa Maeve
Teresa Noelle
Teresa Pearl
Teresa Renee
Teresa Rose/Rosa/Rosalie/Rosalind/Rosaline/Rosemary/Rosamund/Rosamel

I agree with you both & that is probably the one hesitation I have about Tessa. Teresa is out for us due to some bad associations from both of our pasts...it's just not a name either of us care for. I do kind of feel though that Tessa sounds, I don't know...incomplete somehow I guess...

I also would like to use a family name in the middle but we're having a terrible time making them work....

thanks for the input!

Love love love Nina! Abigail is nice, but a little over-used. I don't care for Tessa, it just conjures a negative image for me.

I really like Nina as well. Makes me think of the jazz singer Nina Simone.

I really like Nina as well. I like Abigail, too, but I see the problem with popularity. I do disagree with one of the posters about picturing Nina on a professional woman. My aunt was a Nina (spelled Nena), so I've always associated it with a grown woman. Also, I have an easier time picturing a Nina as a professional woman than I do a Savannah, which is cute, but always sounds like a 5 year old with bouncy curls to me (no offense to those who have named their daughters Savannah)!
