Hello everyone! My husband and I are anxiously awaiting our ultrasound to find out the sex of our third child (a little over a week away). We already have 2 boys, and did not find out their sex until birth, but we can't wait this time! So, the top girl name right now is Janelle, but we have not been able to come up with a middle name. Any suggestions? We would call her Janelle most likely, as we aren't really the nickname type. BUT if there are any bad nicknames that I am missing, please give me a heads up. As far as a boy name goes, we really have none decided as of yet. I like the name Cameron, but is that a name that is also used for a girl?? Our sons names now are Brendan and Aaron and our last name starts with a G. Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Theresa

I like Janelle.
Middle name ideas:
Janelle Emily
Janelle Elise
Janelle Paige
Janelle Kathryn
Janelle Brianne
Janelle Lynne
Janelle Renee
Janelle Marie
Janelle Ashlyn
Janelle Christine
Janelle Lauren
I think Cameron goes really well with Aaron and Brendan. It is being used some for girls, but I only know boys with that name.
Yes, it's true, Cameron is going to the girl, drat it. But I personally don't know any and I LOVE it for a boy. It goes very well w/ your other boys' names.
btw, I LOVE Janelle! Great name!
I know a Janel and a Janelle (went to school with them), and I never heard any bad nns, so you're safe there. :-)
Some mn ideas:
Janelle Marie
Janelle Christine
Janelle Renee
Janelle Faith
Janelle Elaine
Janelle Irene
Janelle Amanda
Janelle Amelia
Janelle Ashley
And while I know a couple Cameron/Camryn girls, I also know a couple boys. I think Cameron goes great with your other boys' names.
As for Janelle, there are a lot of great mn's that sound nice:
Janelle Claire
Janelle Celeste
Janelle Nicole
Janelle Rose
Janelle Cheyanne
Janelle Brynn
Janelle Sophia
Janelle Camille
I think my favourite is Janelle Cheyanne, although they are all nice.
Cameron is practically at the "equal" status I think - half-half boy-girl
only you can decide if that matters to you. I've known both boys and girls born this year named that.
as for Janelle - the important thing with the middle there - is that since Janelle is so heavily accented on the 2nd syllable - middle names with the accent on the 2nd or 3rd syllable will sound and flow better. there are a few exceptions where it's on the first syllable that sound OK. one-syllable ones are not so good with Janelle.
barring family name possibilities- here are my suggestions
Janelle Alexandra
Janelle Brianne or Brianna
Janelle Belinda
Janelle Corinne
Janelle Christine
Janelle Catherine
Janelle Delaney
Janelle Kathleen
Janelle Monique
Janelle Mackenzie
Janelle Marissa
Janelle Melinda
Janelle Olivia
Janelle Renee
Janelle Suzanne
Janelle Taleen
as far as alternatives to Cameron that would match up in style with Brendan and Aaron- how about
Conner, Colin, Colton, Derek, Dylan, Dustin, Eric, Evan, Ethan, Garrett, Gavin, Holden, Hunter, Ian, Jared, Keegan, Kyler, Mason, Payton (sorta unisex, not leaning toward the girls side as much as Cameron), Parker, Preston, Spencer, Tanner, Trevor, Tristan.
good luck
I really like the name Cameron. It probably is being used for girls now but so is every other boys' name these days! To me Cameron is definitely a BOY'S name.
I like Janelle too. It's my sister's mn (she's 33) but she spells it Janel. It's a name you won't run into much out there & that's good. How about Janelle Dawn?
I still think of Cameron as a boys name. If you look at the numbers on the Social Secutiy webstie last year there were 11570 make Camerons born vs 3820 female (all spellings counted: Camren, Kamryn, etc). That means that most all Camerons you will encounter will be male. I think it sounds great with your other boys, good choice.
Janelle is nms, but there is nothing in particular wrong with it. Congrats on finding a name you both love! Good luck with the ultrasound.
