First, Akellum05--have you read the statement at the top of the board? Part of it says: "Courtesy, tact and diplomacy should be used on this board." It seems as though your remarks were intended to hurt feelings-not to offer constructive criticism. If you do not like any of the names, why not simply say that none of them are your style, or simply not respond at all? Naming is such a personal decision. I know that I would be very hurt if someone responded to me in that way.
Finland11, the names on your list that I like best are:
Gabrielle Elizabeth
Janayah
Elizabeth Victoria
Rochelle
Elena Diane
Savannah Grace
Morgan Genieve
Morgan Genevieve or Morgan Geneva would be nice, too. I would take your last name into consideration though--if you have a long last name, then it could get to be a mouthful! I just remember sitting next to kids in school who had long names that they could not fit onto the standardized testing forms.
Are you expecting, or just thinking of names for future use?
Finland11,
I am sorry for sounding harsh. I was irritated before I wrote the post last night and didn't realize how "mean" it sounded until I read it today. So, yet again, I am sorry.
Since you are in Finland I woud imagine that others will pronounce the names correctly so my comment about the pronounciation key can be revoked.
However, I still think it is in your best interest not to name your daughter Isabella Fernanda. I think the name has too much of a historical connection and would cause her to be teased.
From your list these are my favorite:
Olivia Brianna-this is very nice but I think I would use Brianne instead to eliminate the rhyming of the -uh sound in Olivia and Brianna
Savannah Grace-this is great. fresh yet classically beautiful.
Amelia Lauren-I love Amelia but I'm not sure about Lauren, it might be too much -L sound too close together. How about Amelia Grace?
Morgan Genieve-I've always thought Morgan was an adorable name. It was on my list but a relative just named her daughter that last April.
From the list, I like:
Gabrielle Elizabeth
Maria
Elena Diane
Savannah Grace
Mayara
I would shy away from names that aren't easily pronounced from the spelling for logistical reasons. I really like the name Maya, but haven't heard Mayara before.
Elizabeth and Victoria are both the names of well known queens, so I probably wouldn't put those together. Same with Isabella Feranda because it sounds to much like Isabella and Ferdinand. I could see see a child named Essi being called Ese all her life - like "What's up, Ese?" That could be kind of fun, you know, being able to call your kid Ese like she is a pachuco or something, or it could be annoying - LOL.
