I asked for opinions earlier on the name Teagan and Sydney but got more info on Teagan. So,this time around I want to know your opinion on the name Sydney/Sidney.I'm new to this board and have really enjoyed how opinionated this crowd is on names.I'm not into all the popular names and Sydney doesn't appear popular here and I really like it:)

Congratulations on expecting! With Cameron and Blake, both of which are male names that also are used with some frequency for girls (they are close to unisex, though personally I like them much better for boys), I would be looking for a more feminine-sounding name -- I mean, not something frilly or cutesy, but a pretty, feminine name to stand out a bit from Cameron and Blake. Maybe something like Delilah, Stella, Serena, or Mariel... But at the end of the day, if Sydney is the name you love best, use it!

Here in the hoosier state there are more Sydney's than Avery's, but Avery's are boys and girls. I like them both though- you can't go wrong with either.

I looked in my son's annual--he's in 1st grade and i found NO Sydney's in there but 2 BOYS named Avery.I never really thought about both boys names being used for both, but if we go with Sydney, will be keeping the trend here..LOL.

I do like Sirena ok....I'm not really into the "older" names either. These are the names I had on my list but most are just too dang common here...

As a midway point between Teagan and Sydney, how about Tierney? I really like it with your boys...feminine without being fussy, sounds good with your last name...just a thought!

Sorry but I don't care for Sidney, mainly because I dont like the nickname Sid, that reminds me of the mean kid on Toy Story and I just dont think its a 'pretty' nickname.. I do like Teagan though.
