1.) Nicole --- nickname Nicky
(the things I don't like about Nicole, although I've always thought it's a pretty name, is that there are 2 in our family, it's very common and the meaning is "power of the people" which is a little weird)
2.) Miranda ---- nickname Randy
(I like Miranda a lot, and Randy even more! I think it's both pretty and cute. The tough part is going to be picking a middle name. We have a long last name and Miranda is a long first name so we're looking for something short and pretty. We're considering Leigh --- any other suggestions are welcome!)
3.) Willow ---- nickname Will
(I like this name also. I think it's very pretty and unique. The problem is...is it TOO unique? I don't want people saying "Willow?!?!" every time she's introduced. Also, we'd need a short name to go with this one too...and please don't say TREE!)

Thank you!

You know how graceful Willow Trees are? They are very graceful the way their leaves sweep low to the ground.
You could be more daring and perhaps call her Willow Breeze, because of the way Willow Tree sways in the breeze, going back and forth, to and fro, with all of here small leaves rustling in the wind.
Maybe the name Willow should have a mn that means gentle: All of these mns will have something to do with being both gentle and kind.
Willow Anana (African)
Willow Damaris (Greek)
Willow Megan (Celtic/Gaelic)
Willow Metea (Greek)
Now getting off the gentle kick let's move onto other things.
Willow Mattea (which means gift of God.)
Then there is your very classical mns
Willow June
Willow Jane
Willow May
Let's be daring once more
Willow Aira (American-Native American for of the wind.)
Willow Solane (Latin-wind from the east.
I suggested these names because of the way we love to see the Willow Tree swaying gently in the wind.
Last of all I can think of:
Willow Soleil
This may remind us how we would like to sit under a nice shady Willow Tree on a hot summers reading a good book.
Grace was actually my Mother-in-Law's name. I'd suggested it but my husband is hesitant to use it because they didn't get along very well.
In any event, so far Miranda Leigh is where we're leaning for a girl. I'm not going to sweat it until I find out what we're having anyway.
I'll let you all know :)
And Miranda Leigh will be her name!!!!!
Thank you all so much for your votes!

Here are my suggestions-
You could use Nicole for the mn. That would eliminate some of your concerns about using as a fn.
Miranda Nicole, Willow Nicole-
Nicolette is a beautiful, more unique alternative as well.
Personally, I love unique. People may go Willow?! but their next comment will be "How beautiful!" Both of my children have very unusual names. Sometimes we are greeted with negative comments, but the compliments vastly outweigh them...and it means so much when people go on and on about how much they like their names. Also, my kids really like having different names...
Here are the combos I came up with: (I love the nn Mia for Miranda).
*Miranda Kate*, Miranda Paige, Miranda Faith, Miranda Lane, Miranda Hope, Miranda Elise, Miranda Ellen, Miranda Ruth, Miranda Renae, Miranda Clare, Miranda Grace, Miranda Rose, Miranda Mae, Miranda Lynn, Miranda Emily, Miranda Beth, Miranda Eve, Miranda Nell, Miranda Pearl, Miranda Michelle, Miranda Chloe, Miranda Ashley, Miranda Leanne, Miranda Rae, Miranda Kay, Miranda Jill, Miranda Lauren, Miranda Camille
*Nicole Isabella*, Nicole Emily, Nicole Avery, Nicole Carys, Nicole Mia, Nicole Ariana/Arianna, Nicole Brianna, Nicole Rayanna, Nicole Lynn, Nicole Rae, Nicole Elise, Nicole Renae, Nicole Rebecca, Nicole Allison, Nicole Lillian, Nicole Meredith, Nicole Alyssa, Nicole Jillian, Nicole Beatrice, Nicole Millicent, Nicole Maragaret, Nicole Christina--I know some of these seem long, but Nicole sounds better with a 3-syllable mn.
I don't really like a traditional mn with Willow, although I have suggested some, in case that's what you're looking for- *Willow Brinn*, *Willow Celeste*, Willow Shae, Willow Annslyn, *Willow Eve*, Willow Annette, Willow Kathryn, Willow Frances, Willow Janae, Willow Anne, Willow Rae, Willow Naomi, Willow Jane, Willow Autumn, Willow Dawn, Willow Clare
Nicolette Rae, Nicolette Ann, Nicolette Dawn, Nicolette Elise
Let us know if we can be of more help! Good luck, Ginger
