This will be my moms first grandchild and she doesn't want to be called grandma. Do you have any suggestions of any cute names for her or a webiste that might say?

My kids call one of their grandmothers "Nanny", but I think it sounds older than grandma personally. One of my friends is Italian and they call their grandma by the Italian name "Nonna", which I think sounds really cute.

I know a little boy who calls his grandmother his "Minnie" and one who calls his grandmother (whose name is Joanne) his JoJo. You could use something like that.

Hi there. Aw, there's nothing wrong w/being a Grandma! However, some people don't like it. It's understandable. Hopefully I have a few years to worry about this...

Anyway, my dh's parents had him very young, so his grandmother was not ready to be called Grandma either. To this day all of the grandchildren (& great grandchildren) call her Nana. What do you think?

Hope this helps!

When I have grandkids I'm going to be called Nonna or Nonny. Sounds regal to me for some reason! And heavens knows I should be treated as a Queen, right. LOL

I had a Nana and a Grammy growing up, and my mom chose to be Nana as well. I also know one grandmother who goes by Mimi.

I think Grams is cute, although it probably sounds just as old Grandma. I always used Nana for my grandmother and Boppa/Boppy for my grandfather when I was growing up.
