I'm not expecting or TTC yet. But I'd like your thoughts on this. My fiance and I love the name Haley(prnd-HAY-LEE) but we aren't sure how to spell it. Here are a few ones we have throw around.

Hayley

Haley

Hailey

I want the one that would get the correct pronouncation. I'm worried that Haley will be said HAL-EE. What do you all think?

I would go with HAILEY. Haley I agree might be pronounced Halle, and I don't like Hayley, the extra Y looks out of place, but I do like Hailey.
Other spelling possibilities (* = ones I like):

Haeley
Halie
Haylie
Hailie *
Haelie
Haleigh
Hayliegh
Haileigh
Haeliegh
Halea
Haylea
Hailea *
Haelea
Halee
Haylee
Hailee *
Haelee
Haely
Haly
Hayly
Haily

For you sons name, I suggest Gage Bryson J..... Then you can still use Bryson, and if it goes to the girls then you are still safe because it is his middle name. My second favorite is Bryan Gage "Gage"

For Hailey, I think both the Haley and Hayley spellings just look misspelled! Keep with the proper spelling and make things simpler- what is wrong with Hailey?

As for the boy's name, I like the idea of using Bryan as a mn. I think it is simpler and since you will call him by the other name anyways, it just makes more sense. It will still be after his dad of course. I love the name Gage... so Gage Bryan GMV. Tucker is also a great name. Caden and Cade are way overdone, and Cole is getting there too. Just a thought, but you could use Brianna/Brianne for a girl after Bryan.

there are probably at least 10 spellings of this name just in the top 1000 of the social securitiy list

I prefer Hailey - Hayley is OK, I agree that Haley cold be misconstrued as HAL-ee - without the long A sound

I've also seen Haily, Haylee, Hailee, Haylie, Hali, Halie - almost any combination you can think of

Hailey won't get mispronounced

good luck

I think all 3 will be pronounced the same, but I prefer Hailey.

As for boys, I like Bryan Cole (called Cole) best.

Hailey/Hayley is one of those rare names that has a bunch of spellings many consider equally acceptable. I think Hayley is actually the more authentic, but with the current trend of adding random Ys, the fact that this six-letter name has TWO makes it appear trendier, if that makes sense. Also, Hailey is the most common/familiar spelling by far (it was #26 on the current SSA list, while Hayley was only 261). Therefore, I definitely prefer Hailey visually, and to avoid confusion (as Hailey isn't likely to be mispronounced and the spelling many will assume).

As to the boy name, I actually think Bryson is kind of neat for a son of Bryan (not the literal translation, but it completely makes sense, KWIM?). I also quite like Bryant for you, since it would only be adding a T to the end of Bryan's name, but still avoid a lot of the confusion a Jr. can bring. You may also like simply Brice/Bryce, as it avoids the trendy "son" ending many parents seem to like for their little girls, so you should be a bit safer there. ;) There's also Bran, Brannon/Brannan, Brannagan/Brannigan or Brychan.

FWIW, I'd avoid Tucker as a fn, as I've just seen too many comments on the overly-obvious teasing potential (including by those who have it as a first or ln), and Caden/Cade would definitely fall into the "TOO trendy" category, though the similar Cole seems a nice alternative, so I'd keep that.

I love the name Hailey for a girl but unfortunately since we have nieces named Bailey and Kailey, it's out for us. I like the Hailey and Hayleigh spellings equally, but fear that Haley would be pronounced as Hallie and that Hayley looks too awkward.

As goes the boy name, I like Bryson and don't see it as too feminine. Not only that but with your fiancee being named Bryan, you have a good reason to name your son that. I have a father in law, husband and son who all bear the same name, and it can be confusing! Bryson is a nice alternative to Bryan. I personally don't like the name Gage at all (sounds too soap star-ish to me), but I love Tucker as a middle name with Bryson. It seems to flow beautifully. Good luck, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I was married in October, and I think fall is a beautiful time of year for a wedding.

I love love the name Hayley... its also my daughters name but I love her name. Everyone says it correctly. Hailey is okay but I love Hayley I think that, that would be the best way for that because you could never misspronounce it. For the boys name I love Cole Bryan it just fits to me.
