have 2 girls..help on 3rd name!
| Tue, 07-05-2005 - 4:42pm |
We had our 5 month ultrasound today ... we both left confident we saw a baby boy! We had no confirmation from the doctor, so we still need help with both names. We have 2 daughters, Chloe & Paige. I would love any suggestions on a 3rd name ... here are a few on our short list I would love some thoughts on.
Boys:
Cole
Beckett
Miles
Girls:
Emerson
Eliot

I love your boy's names! Miles, Cole & Beckett are all great. I especially like Miles because of Miles Davis.
For girls, I prefer Emerson. Be warned that many people on this board don't like boy's names used on girls. I know Eliot/Elliot is crossing over to be a girls name now, and someone else on the board named her daughter Elliot Katherine, I think. I don't really mind boys names on girls, but I do like the sound of the name Emerson more than Eliot.
I think your boys' names are great, but I'd be concerned that having a Chloe and a Cole would be confusing. Beckett and Miles are both great choices, though.
Your girl names are NMSAA. I know many people like Emerson and Elliot on girls, but I see them as primarily boy names. I also don't think that these unisex names go as well with the feminine names you've used on your other daughters. What about Ella, Emily, Elle, Emma, etc.? Or some other ideas -- Zoe, Madison, Anya, Rachel, Grace, Maya, Mia.
Good luck making a decision! And congrats on your probable boy!

I really like your boy names -- any of those would seem to go well with your two other children.
Your girl names are not my style. I am one of those that's not a big fan of boy names for girls, but that's only part of the reason I don't care for Emerson and Elliott for your daughter. They don't seem to go with Chloe and Paige very well IMO. Those are both fairly feminine names to me and to go with a more masculine name for #3 doesn't seem to fit. If it were my name and I had two older sisters with pretty, feminine names, I would always wonder if my parents secretly wanted a boy!
Chloe, Paige, &
Cole : Nice in general, but a little close to Chloe (kind of like chloe rearranged)
Beckett: a little harsh to my ears
Miles: excellent choice!!
I think that Cole is way too close to Chloe and that eliinates it off the bat. The other boy names are fantastic however. Miles is wonderful, love it. Beckett is great, I also like Bennett.
Your girls names stand out though as nothing like your first two. Chole and Paige are so girly and to use a very unisex/mostly male name seems off. Elliot I only only like for a boy, Emerson I have seen on girls but is just NMS. Other that fit with your girls:
Piper
Lila
Maya
Amelia (nn Mia)
Sadie
Macy
Delaney
Tess/Tessa
Good luck!

**great suggestions, I'll toss in my votes for:
Chloe, Paige & Tessa
Chloe, Paige & Sadie
perfect fits!
Boys: Cole and Miles are fine. Beckett might be tough if he's not, if you know what I mean (glasses, weak gross motor skills.)
Chloe an Paige are very pretty names. I'm not a big fan of unisex last names as first names, and I have to say that imo, Emerson and Eliot aren't great names for boys or girls. Neither goes with the sisters' names. Are you trying to get to the nicknames Emmie or Ellie? I would go for traditional girls names that have these nn.

I like your boys' names too (I have a Miles, myself, age 4) I like Beckett as well. I love Chloe and Paige but I don't think either of the girl choices goes very well with those 2 names. It won't matter anyway.... you will have a boy and he'll be Miles! :-)
Linda (mom to Miles, Pamela and Hugh)
I love all of your boys names, but I think Miles wins.
I like both of the girls names, and my favorite is Emerson.
