Have lots of time but need lots of help

We've got until May to come up with good names but we have absolutely no idea at all of where to start! Our two children's names were chosen before we were even married so we haven't even looked at baby names really in over seven years! I don't even know where to start...

My son's name is Connor Thomas. I've always liked Connor, my husband fell in love with it, and Thomas is my husband and his father's middle name.

My daughter's name is Kadyn May. We were at a wedding once and the flower girl's name was Kadyn. We loved it - loved the spelling and it's different than the other homonyms of this name that seem to be REALLY popular recently. May was my grandmother's name.

My name is Kara Jean.

My husband's name is Ian Thomas (goes by Tom).

Our last name is MacPherson. My husband's heritage is Scottish and Swedish. Mine is mainly Irish, French, and Norweigan.

I don't know whether to look for hard /C/ or /K/ names to keep with the trend of the kids? But then my name also begins with a /K/ but Tom obviously doesn't so I don't want to isolate him.

We like names that are different but not too different, if that makes sense.

Since Connor's middle name comes from my husband's father's side of the family and Kadyn's middle name comes from my father's side of the family, we were thinking of going with something from either of our mother's sides. Coincidentally, Tom's mom is of Swedish decent and my mom's side of the family is Norweigan so we could go with something Scandinavian. The family names for both of those sides aren't anything we particularly care for, though (Effie, Richard, Edwards, Lewis, Norman, Linda, Svea, Hildegaard, etc.). But honoring the heritage would be just as fine as choosing an actual family name.

Any ideas? Or just a general direction to look?

Thanks!

Kara

I like using a Scandinavian middle name for your baby. Here are a few I like:
Anika - meaning very beautiful
Brigit
Dane
Erica/Erika
Espen
Gretal
Halden
Halle
Karina
Skyler
Thor/Thora

Go to http://www.bubbaboo.com/baby-names.asp?ori=Scandinavian for even more Scandinavian names.

As for the first name, I don't think it matters whether or not you go with a C/K beginning or not. I think these names sound good with Connor and Kadyn

Isabelle
Callie
Alanna
Kelsey
Chelsey
Jonnica
Margaret nn Greta
Marissa
Alicia

Trevor
Evan
Ethan
Wyatt
Jake

My favourites are Callie Karina MacPherson and Ethan Dane MacPherson or Trevor Halden MacPherson. Good luck!
