DH was telling me about someone he used to know named Haven. What are your thoughts about this name for a girl (I think his friend was actually a guy). I don't know that we're seriously considering it. I'm just more curious to hear people's perceptions of it.

Honestly, I think it sounds odd for a name. It reminds me of Nevaeh, albeit not as ridiculous, LOL.

I actually like it. There's an author named Haven Kimmel who writes great books! If you don't choose the name for your baby, you should still read Kimmel's memoir (she's all of 42 or so!)called Zippy: Growing up small in Mooreland, Indiana. It's a kick.

Honestly, it was the title of a V.C. Andrews novel, and that's always good for a couple of points on the potentially tacky scale for me. (Seriously, that woman must've had major family issues!)

It's a family surname for me, so it was always on my list for a mn.

I know a cute little girl named Haven Charlotte. I think it's a pretty name, but not a first name choice I would make.

I don't particularly care for it - I also think I heard it once on a guy - years ago - I come across it on a few little girls here and there - know of only one I can actually think of that I know the parents etc.

i would think of Haven as a girl's name, but a friend of mine dated a guy named Haven. is a unisex name.
