Hello all! Kind of new here- I haven't posted since I was pregnant with my son who is three.

Everyone here was VERY helpfull then.

I am now 34 weeks along with his baby sister and having second thoughts about the name Annelise.

Everytime I tell someone the name they say 'oh'. Or something along those lines. I have liked that name

for a girl since high school and am starting to think maybe not-but I don't really like any other names.

I like Kialan a lot- but that is a cartoon. I kind of like Kierian, but my son's name is Kaden and his half sisters are

Christina, Cassandra and Meagan. People already tease us about all the ca names.

And a lot of people think it should be annalise but I really like the Elise.

Annelise Clare is stunning!! I think people may give you that reaction because they aren't use to it- it is an underused classic, as compared to all the trendy, misspelled names that are popular right now. Go with what YOU love!!!

If you and partner LOVE the name then I would go ahead no matter what anyone says.

I think "Annelise Clare" is such a lovely name.

Naming a child is a personal choice and regardless of the name you decide you will have reactions, good or bad depending on peoples personal taste.

THANK YOU everyone for the replies. I guess I was getting tired of lukewarm responses. I probably will stick with Annelise Clare. I just am not very hot on anything else. I don't like Emily (his suggestion when I was pregnant with my son was Ethan Allan- I'm not too interested in naming my kid after a furniture store) I do like Elise but it seems kind of dated and everyone could call her that anyway if she prefers. My son already calls her

Annelise Clare is a great name. Annelise or Anneliese are my favorite spellings. I don't like the name spelled Annalise (because I see the word Anal hidden in there.

Annelise is beautiful and classy with a lot of nickname options. It also is not overly popular, without being trendy, madeup or too weird. Very nice choice.

I'd stick with it.
