So I found an Irish name (last name is Flynn) that I thought we'd both like because it sounds new, but it's actually old.

Unfortunately, about a day later I remembered where I'd heard this name, and let's just say it isn't a positive reference for most people.

I'd love to know how many people think it is a good name and how many can't get past the famous person who had it. I'd particularly like to hear from people who have never heard of it before, since that's a good sign.

Girl's Name: Kinsey Elizabeth Flynn

THANKS!

-Robyn

I think of Kinsey Milhone from Sue Grafton's mystery books. She's a great character.

I like it!

Its cute but if you are unsure of it you could try Kinsley Elizabeth Flynn.. a little different of a name but on the same orders and it flows well too:)

You probably saw the ads for the new movie, Kinsey, about the sex researcher. That was his last name.

My brother had a friend (boy) growing up whose name was Kinsey. He was kind of chunky, so that's what I picture. Haven't run across the name since. I'm not a big fan of unisex names for girls. The Elizabeth middle name won't really come into play unless you really call her Kinsey Elizabeth and enroll her in school this way.

To me, it's cute but too similar in sound to Kenzie or Mackenzie which has been used so often in the last few years that it's boring to hear of another one now. How about another Irish 'K' name, like Keeley, Keelin, Keeva, Kelly or Keira instead?

i agree with momtokat. i think of mckenzie which is way over used... and quite a common name now. i like the idea of a pp, kinsley- just my 2 cents.

Regardless of the association with Dr Kinsey, I don't like the name. Too much like McKenzie and sounds much too young. I don't think it would grow well at all. I can see a 5 yr old Kinsey, but not a professional adult.

Kinsey - if you know about the movie with Liam Neeson - was a sex researcher who released the most famous report in U.S. history: the Kinsey Report. So I think that's what most people associate that spelling with. But I like the Name Kenzi, so why don't you go with that spelling?

It looks better as Kenzi Elizabeth Flynn anyway. Just my .02.

I have heard the name Kinsey before, sorry. But i don't think that many people will make the connection. I think it's a really pretty name for a little girl.
